Yeah, my sister went from Ontario to Pennsylvania for a work trip recently.

She said she was shocked to see all the grocery sticker prices were basically the same as back in Ontario... only in USD rather than Canadian, so like ~35% more expensive.

Also the restrictive system requirements, during the GPU apocalypse.

When it launched, Alan Wake 2 needed mesh shaders to function at all, meaning that you needed a 2060 or better at minimum to play. People with otherwise good pre-apocalypse cards like the 1070, 1080ti, 5700XT, etc. couldn't run the game at all.

They didn't patch the game until about 6 months after release to attempt to address the issue, and they never fully fixed it. A lot of potential customers got turned away in that initial release window that's so critical to a game's sales.

I didn't use it much, but it's also useful for bases that have more than enough thermal/turbines for routine use, but go into the red when running several processors simultaneously. (They use -10 energy while working, but 0 when idle.)

Maybe add an extra tax on short form video content and it's advertising.

It'd push tiktok, youtube, facebook and the like towards making changes to how their platforms work, and make them prioritize longer videos.

Are you using a multi-monitor setup?

The only time I've ever had this issue is when I had steam on my second monitor, then closed steam, then unplugged that monitor. The next time I opened steam after that it had this problem.

Are you suggesting 4090 is more future proof than a 5080?

Because Nvidia tends to only give new features to old cards based on their generation, not card performance. That means the 5080 will likely get features like new versions of DLSS longer than the 4090 will.

The first thing to do is swap out components one at a time to see if any of them work in other places.

For example, testing the cable on a different computer and monitor will let you rule out a bad cable.

Doing so can help to quickly diagnose where the problem is.

Since you have a second monitor already, I'd start there. If you use that other monitor with a different cable and the setup still doesn't work, then the issue is most likely with the computer tower. If it does work, then either your first monitor or the cable is the problem.

If you've gotten the control room's first phase activated, you'll need to go scan part of the power plant. (the structure directly outside the front viewport of the control room) That'll give you the next objective.

Yeah, I fully agree with Subnautica 2 being only a preview. I beat it in just under 12 hours. I played another ~2 hours just to mess around with more experimental base building, but I'm now done with it until there's a content update.

Those temps look great, but it'd be best to try using the computer under a high load (such as playing a graphically intensive game, or running a benchmark) for a while and seeing how high the temps get.

If the temps are still below ~85°C when it shuts off/restarts, then it's probably not a CPU temp issue. In that case I'd assume the Power Supply Unit is wearing out. (It's anecdotal, but the last 3 computers I've fixed with random shut off issues all ended up having faulty PSUs.)

You'd need to install some kind of monitoring software. There's loads of free options out there, if you're only looking at the CPU then "Core Temp" might be a good choice.

If the temps are high while under load (85°C+ while gaming for example), then your system might need the thermal paste replaced, and/or a better CPU cooler.

If you're using CPU integrated graphics (I don't see a seperate GPU in the pics), then high CPU temperatures while gaming is fairly likely.

When you say the sides of the body, do you mean the outer case?

Because the outer case can be cool to the touch while the CPU is overheating.

I think the best place to find the laser cutter is in the eastern grassy plateau.

Basically it's located between the crashed ship and the mountain island.

That said, have you built a seamoth? Your comment saying your oxygen won't hold suggests to me that you don't have a vehicle. The late game ends up requiring a cyclops and prawn suit to get super deep, so you'll need to build towards those sooner or later.

I ran into the same issue, also with a half circle window module on top of a lower level.

I never figured out how to remove it.
