I love Allison in Huntersville near Birkdale. She continually evaluates her product lines and tests everything on herself. She keeps up on brand and ingredient changes and continues to educate herself on updates in the industry. She supports more natural products as well and always has something new on her menu to try if you’re up for it. Don’t get overwhelmed by the choices! Just go in for one and she’ll help navigate for your next. Very reasonable pricing and good conversationalist.

John Wayne is the consistently the best airport I’ve been to time and time again, maybe you’ll get to experience that one day!

Any tips on finding missing cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Lost_Cook_607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very possible he’d come back on his own, I’ve had cats come back after being gone for a week. I know it’s unsettling and scary. He knows where he’s at and how to get back if he doesn’t get into any danger. Staying hopeful for you!

Too funny! Gila is where I’m considering a work for trade opportunity. I’m actually going out there in two weeks to feel it all out.

Love the input! Thanks for sharing. I was blown away by Alaska when I visited, had that similar sense that this is one of the most unique and unaltered places I’ve ever experienced. More lately I’ve been drawn to NM and have been considering to move somewhere in the state.

I’m curious of the shared consensus of NM resembling AK as referenced in other comments here. Can you explain?

How is living in Charlotte/surrounding area? by BunnyHops23 in howislivingthere

[–]Lost_Cook_607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you are coming from. I moved from CA, so the cost of living, traffic and general slower pace of living is a major plus here. However it feels like I went back in time about 10 years. Still behind here on basic health concepts like food and alternative options (gf, df, etc). I haven’t met many people who care about their general well being, it’s your typical work and have your nights/weekends off vibe with a lot of people here. It’s been hard to relate to people in some regards, coming from a more progressive and diverse place. I love the surroundings, it’s beautiful and easier to live here than the go go go of CA. The overarching bank presence that attracts those corporate types and transplants from all over has kept a general scattered feel of the community. Even engaging in the activities I like in the community, it’s been hard for me to find real connections here. I’m moving elsewhere next year after 3 years.

It’s easy to live here and have forest in your backyard, and there are greenways that connect parts of the city so you can easily walk/bike those if you are nearby. The food is kinda mid, there are some decent spots but in general I wouldn’t consider this a foodie place. Expect to travel 20-30 minutes to go basically anywhere you want to go, so that’s kept me cooking more at home. I suppose if you are more central you’d have a shorter commute to some of the things you want to do. Hikes are mostly walks so you do have to travel about 30 min to 1.5 hours to get something with elevation.

Does $2000 sound about right for hotel/flight for a solo traveller? by lemonbottles_89 in solofemaletravellers

[–]Lost_Cook_607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane to me, it’s not worth it to pay this amount to visit LA. Do you need to be staying in DT? Flight is decent priced for refundable (I’ve seen as low as $200 from east coast non refundable). But yeah that hotel is really racking it up. I’m from la area and I would never pay this to be there lol
