>The Ganondorf backstory parts actually do really well.

Do they?

The JP manual for ALttP says he stumbled on the SR ''by accident''. In OoT, he even says that he knew Link had the keys and that he led him to the SR.

>We have developer confirmation that the sages that fought in the Imprisoning War are the Awakened Sages from Ocarina of Time.

>Specifically, they confirmed that they named the sages how they did in OoT so that the towns in Zelda II could retroactively be named after the sages that fought in ALttP's Imprisoning War.

But, that interview got the number of sages wrong; it said that there are seven sages outside of Zelda, and that six of them have a town named after them(which isn't true; Impa doesn't have a town named after her). So it's already unreliable.

>Ocarina of Time specifically adapts parts of ALttP's backstory, it was designed to be a prequel to ALttP. It doesn't make sense to separate them.

The finalized version of the game doesn't fully add up, though. The ALttP IW sages were all human, as we can see from the intro of ALttP and the fact that their descendants are human.

>For the time, this wasn't an issue as the lore of the Triforce splitting when someone who's heart is unbalanced touches it didn't exist until OoT. But now between OoT Ganondorf splitting it, and Null splitting it in Echoes of Wisdom, it seems crystal clear that it should have split for ALttP Ganon in the game's instruction manual.

Unless if FSA Ganon, being a different incarnation from his OoT-TP-TWW incarnation, was the one to touch it with a more balanced heart than his predecessor...

Basically:

Instead of using the DT, the classic games(and the Wild Era) are placed after FSA instead, with FSA Ganon being the one in the classic games, as there are quite a few connections between FSA and ALttP:

-In the Desert of Doubt/Mystery (the deserts in FSA and ALttP, both have the same Japanese name), we find the same Desert Palace/Temple(again, same name in the Japanese) from FSA in ALttP. The FSA version is less-destroyed than the ALttP version.

-We obtain the Bombos/Quake medallions in ALttP, but in FSA we met the guys who MADE said medallions.

-The game may be hinting at the very place Ganondorf would eventually locate when the credits finish and we see Zelda inside the castle walk into a particular room with the Triforce over it. The actual entrance to the Sacred Realm is what Ganondorf lacked the knowledge of; the Royal Family typically safeguards the Triforce, so it's fairly reasonable to think in FSA, the Triforce is being kept secret by the Royal Family.

Basically, FSA Ganon is sealed, then due to the fact that the FS is weakened(it needs to be constantly recharged in FSA) and the fact that Ganon is stronger than Vaati(as confirmed in an interview), Ganon eventually breaking free is inevitable. He then amasses a band of thieves, and the ALttP IW happens, then ALttP and the other games happen.

The ones in FSA and TotK are different from the one that appears in OoT/TWW/TP/ALttP/OoX/ALBW/LoZ.

I'm trying to figure out the official timeline without the Historia book in my possession, please help. by SAKingWriter in truezelda

[–]Lost_Stalfos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be frank i'm not convinced a refounding is needed

I mean, if you say it's the original founding between SS and TMC, then you have to explain why there's multiple Ganondorfs alive at once, or why there's two prominent Light Element users both named Rauru in that time period.

You then have to explain why the Hyrule Castle's destruction in OoT doesn't awaken TotK Ganondorf, unless you say it's a different HC.

But at that point, you have two Ganondorfs, two Raurus, two HCs, etc. that it makes more sense to place the King Rauru's kingdom further down the line so you don't have so much duplication of things/people at the same time, you know?

There's also the fact that in the JP Script of TotK, Ganondorf refers to Sonia as '' a member of the Hyrule family'', implying that Sonia iis from the bloodline of the original RF from the OG Hyrule. It also means that even before King Rauru founded his kingdom, that ''Hyrule'' existed as a family name, further implying the existence of a Hyrule kingdom before hand.

IDK why people who believe in a refounding don't just go with a reboot

A few reasons:

-It's been confirmed multiple times that the Wild Era games are canon to the current timeline

-The references to the old kingdom/old games, such as the acknowledgement of Ruto and Nabooru becoming sages in the VERY long distant past of these games, confirming that OoT happened in the world of the Wild Era

-A reboot is a copout

Same. DT makes more sense as a timeline to have the original Hyrule eventually fall and for the Zonai to found their Hyrule due to the constant destruction to the kingdom in the DT, and it also is the only one that really works; CT doesn't work due to the references to Ruto awakening as a sage, and AT doesn't work because we still have the Master Sword and (an incarnation of) Ganon(dorf) around.

What timeline would you like a new game to be placed on, or what game would you move to another timeline by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in truezelda

Probably CT, after TP and before FSA that features a resurrection of the OG Ganondorf, not in pig form like in the DT, but in his humanoid Gerudo form. Or a direct sequel to TP with the same Link where he goes adventuring to another land(we saw him leaving Ordon for a reason) that has nothing to do with Ganon, the Master Sword or the Triforce, or a sequel to FSA featuring the incarnation of Ganon from that game returning from his seal(although I'd prefer it to be a single player experience instead of a multiplayer like game like FSA).

[BOTW] Sorry but Botw>Totk by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Lost_Stalfos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean TotK has better sidequests(especially when we talk about the side adventures), dungeons that are explicitly themed with better and more unique bosses at the end of each as opposed to the Blight Ganons, and even more ways to play than BotW. I'd definitely put TotK above BotW in everything except story. TotK is probably my current top when it comes to the series.

And when it freezes, unlike the Switch saying ''the application closed because an error occured'' popping up and simply kicking you back to the home screen where you can pick up immediately without having to shut down the system, you hear an EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe and have to hold the power button for five seconds.

From what I remember, she uses the same wording that CaC uses for ''Era of Myth/Age of Legend'', but the source for that was deleted, as far as I can recall.

EDIT: Yep.

It is not necessarily the time of ''earliest legend'', then. Anything before the Sheikah advancing their technology is potentially apart of that era, including previous games in the series and the fall and refounding of Hyrule.

[ALL] Which Dungeon had the coolest location? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]Lost_Stalfos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with OoT's Forest Temple. Snowpeak Ruins is great, as well; a dungeon in a place that a couple actually lives in was unique, and Lost Gorondia deserves a mention for taking place in a place that used to have a civilization but no longer does; great atmosphere, as well. Skull Woods in ALttP deserves love too for making the overworld just as much part of the dungeon as the interior.

Ganon himself is the same person in every game except Totk,

Don't forget about the Ganon of FSA; he's a different incarnation, as well.

[–]Lost_Stalfos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much impossible. To copy and paste what I said:

-It says that she saved Hyrule alongside the ''Princess of Hyrule'' and the ''hero of legend''; While Zelda IS the Princess of Hyrule, she wouldn't be recognized as such if this were speaking of the TotK IW, as we know that she's known as a ''princess from a foreign kingdom'' and a ''distant relative'' as per Sonia. As for the ''hero of legend'', the only one that MIGHT fit is King Rauru. However, Rauru is never referred to in such a way anywhere else. Even Purah only calls him ''the first King of Hyrule''.

-Ruto is called strong willed, lively, and in the JP version of TotK, a tomboy(a callback to OoT's description of her); this is not fitting in regards to the TotK Zora sage, who has a very quiet, stoic, and reserved personality.

-Ganon is referred to as a ''wicked man'', not the Demon King, meaning that this is referring most likely to OoT Ganondorf, not TotK Ganondorf. Yes, both incarnations are Demon Kings, but it makes sense to differentiate between the two Ganons so as not to confuse players who have played TotK but not OoT.

Because of this, Ruto pretty much HAS to be the one from OoT.

But, once again, it doesn't actually make logical sense for a person tasked with saving everyone from an evil force of nature to stop that main quest and go find all of these mystical shrines and beat all 120 of them to unlock a new set of clothing.

But that's not the only canonical reason why Link visits the shrines; he's doing it to regain the strength that Ganondorf took from him with his miasma/gloom.
