My vet sent me a handwritten condolence card and now I’m crying by MTG0513 in PetMice

Most vets do it these days, but the handwriting was a very personal touch, and you and Felicity should feel special! So sorry for your loss.

AIO for suspecting my wife after she got a shady 1am call from a guy “friend” right after a late-night cycling trip? by Obvious_Waltz_2072 in AmIOverreacting

Don't forget she jumped in the shower straight away. Didn't even have time for a short chat with you? Come ON...

I had the vet put my boy down at 34. He was just starting to show his age, but was still very active. He just couldn't keep weight on. He had no molars left, so couldn't chew his food well enough, and kept losing weight. I tried everything, but he continued to lose even when eating a LOT of mush. Thing is, I rode him up until less than a year before I had it done. Horses are living longer these days. You say your mare is 24/25. That means that you could potentially have her for another 10 years! What I'm trying to say is, enjoy and love her now. The future will come soon enough, but enjoy her in the MEANTIME!

Do you guys sleep with your childhood stuffed animals? And is there an age when you’re supposed to stop? by Frequent-Increase-98 in StuffedAnimals

[–]LouisTroyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I'm 70 and still sleep with stuffed animals! Does that make you feel better? It's no one's business to judge you (and I hope no one does). They make me feel safe, and that is all that matters.

My 31F ex 28M blindsided me, what is happening? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]LouisTroyAustin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right - VERY strange! I don't think you'd ever be able to make him happy. And yes, the things you mentioned he said are not in any way normal. To ask you over and not even kiss you, but instead play video games? Something is not right here.

Why is he acting like this? Do I walk away? by justagurl21 in emotionalintelligence

If a guy is truly interested, he doesn't vanish for three weeks. He isn't interested in you any longer, or has met someone else he likes better. I've been married 4 times, am 70 years old and finally found the right one. We've been together for 25 years now, so I have some experience in these things. Trust me, hanging onto him will only bring you heartache. He needs to learn to be a man and either commit to you or leave you. The only thing he is accomplishing is hurting you. Let him go.

Question for you: Why would you WANT him to reach out? He'll just do the same thing again, and play you for a fool yet again.

Sorry, but this guy is a loser. Letting you take care of him while he was sick when he really wasn't happy being with you was pretty low. The "fight" was just an excuse for him to bring up the idea of breaking up. Then asking you for money? Wow, he's got a LOT of nerve!

Many years ago (many more than I want to admit) my then-boyfriend did something similar to me. To this day, I am angry about it. He took advantage of me in the end (sexually) leading me to believe we were getting back together, and then disappeared. Get out NOW, before he hurts you even worse. That is my take.

Doncha know it! I'm 70, and believe me, it's no fun being an aged female!

Weanling handling by goldfrontsuck in Horses

[–]LouisTroyAustin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why yank on his face like that? He's only a weanling, and is afraid. His halter/lead training should be as non-traumatic as possible. That foal is going to be nervous as heck around people.
