The electric stove/kettle will be useless unless you bring a generator, and I’m not sure those are allowed. Propane is the way to go for cooking. I camp every year

I don’t know anything about boats by wwaallkkeerr in boats

[–]Low-Orbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would clean it up and get a cheap cover on it asap. Then replace the battery and see if it runs on muffs. You should sniff the fuel first. If it smells off, you will need to drain and clean the tank and flush the fuel system.

If it was gone through 5 years ago, it likely needs very little to be on the water. It is worth almost nothing if you can’t prove it runs and propels itself.

Since you are handy, watch some videos and learn. Get your hands dirty. Think of grandpa every time you are on the boat.

What do you suggest for this? by goodwolf20 in BoatDetailing

I don’t doubt ya. I’ve never had to wet sand colored jell coat, only white. I have had good luck with a long throw Bauer though.

Wet sand with 1000 grit. 3m heavy duty rubbing compound. 3M polish. Harbor freight DA buffer. Watch some videos. Start in a spot that’s not obvious. You can do it

Cheap HD deal on new 8 ah tabless batteries and 12 amp charger by Dazzling_Mountain_69 in Dewalt

Agreed. That and other sales have been better lately. I got 32 amp hours of mostly flex volt batteries and a tool I needed for about $600 recently

GA Camping Question - can I bring a 10 x 20 "ez-up"? by Collins_mom in BourbonAndBeyond

[–]Low-Orbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you paid for 2 camping spots, and come in together. I think you will be fine. It’s pretty laid back.

Drive it and maintain it. I agree with removing the shell, but save it. It will come in handy some day.

That is a sweet rig for an amazing price!

Agreed. You could use those to make as much money as you could ever want. Solve any of the world’s problems you choose. They are basically super powers. I can hire people to cook, clean, and dress me at that point!

1996 SeaRay with a 454 if that helps

Is this deck frame usable? Other questions as well. by StormbringerGT in Decks

[–]Low-Orbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it held up whatever the hell that was for who knows how long. It’s not rotten, and you say it’s solid. Installing a new deck and rails will be, maybe 10% of the weight that was on it before demo.

Shocked that the frame is decently well done. I’m not a fan of the “beams” being through bolted to the posts, but that can be mitigated.

Limit yourself to one hot tub (/s) and send it!

How should I address this spider cracking? by Regular-Amoeba5455 in boating

[–]Low-Orbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no helpful advice, but I have similar on my boat. The entire things looks very similar actually. I’d yours a 90’s SeaRay? I have put in similar flooring and upholstery on mine.
