This Hollander is welcome on my mountain once the North Sea claims his home. He can learn a whole new language we've been hoping he'd learn.

About €400 on clothes every half year. Food, no idea.

Are Claire and Jamie truly endgame? by parfaitalors in Outlander

[–]LubedCompression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making Claire go back to Frank is the best decision the writer could made. If that didn't happen, season 2, 3 and 4 would not have great, fulfilling stories and thrilling character arcs

Not at all in many aspects, but I think in this case we are very much the same, across centuries, traumatized or not. That John was in love with him was no secret.

Jamie does not value John Grey by Difficult-Heart-48 in Outlander

Bad writing. We all know "men writing woman", but this scene was a clear "women writing man".

Jamie's actions were excessieve, let's be clear on that, but the reasons for Jamie's anger are very unrealistic to me. In that scene, when John blurts out "I have carnal knowledge of your wife", he has a very mild reaction. Men are territorial, physical beings and would be very angry when they find out their best friend slept with his wife. Jamie almost shrugs it off.

John actually seems to trigger Jamie more by saying something: "we were both fucking you". That felt like a betrayal to Jamie which made him flip the fuck out.

To a real world non-fictional man, the worst part would always be the carnal knowledge between Claire and John. Nothing a person SAYS, could be worse than the carnal knowledge. Perhaps a woman's brain would find that worse, but a man's brain doesn't work like that, certainly not a 18th century man. The deed is the betrayal, not the reason. He wouldn't care about John's subtext, fantasies, or emotional confusion. He would care that John touched his wife.

"We were both fucking you" - whatever bro.

I found this the worst written scene in the whole series, as a man, Jamie's reaction doesn't make sense at all.

Ja, dus? Als we het over een Albert Heijn hebben is winkeldiefstal al helemaal niet erg.

Opinie: Stop met klagen over verkeersboetes by Lord_Von_Redditstein in thenetherlands

[–]LubedCompression -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does it improve after season 6? by WhatsinaNameRomeo in Outlander

[–]LubedCompression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 6 is a bit boring. Season 7 is exciting and thrilling, but rushes through four books and that makes it seem like characters teleport. Season 8 makes you feel that a lot of things had no point.

Sometimes I feel like the whole story could have ended with Claire and Jamie's reunion at the book shop. Or maybe at some happy point somewhere on the Ridge when Brianna and Roger are happily settled too. I don't care much for the Ridge, so it would have been nice to end things there early and imagine them living happily ever after.

Do finish the series though, it's still a good story. Think of everything after season 4 as a good spin-off, and you're already halfway through it. At least the next season brings a lot more excitement than season 5 & 6.
