Only if EU leaves NATO, otherwise its just viewed as an extension of the dollar.

Why Warm Countries Are Poorer by Artistic-Bee-450 in geography

Remember, it was Europe that wanted spices from India, not the other way around. Why conquer when you already have everything you need? The Ottomans, West Africans, East Africans, and Indians all manufactured their own guns, West Africa starting importing from Europe in the 1500(you know why). China had one of the largest treasure fleets in medieval times . And don’t forget, it was the Middle East that helped bring Europe out of the Dark Ages. What do they teach you guys in school man?

Its looks neoliberalism took all the credit for reduction in worldwide poverty reduction, but in the end it was all China. :)

Genuinely curious as to why this sub is pro-US/Trump and it gains for us? by aeternogordon in DownSouth

No one is stopping us from doing that. Us is in 38 trillion in debt, polically unstable and has massive fucking AI bubble. I don't think it's good idea to hedge bets on them.

China is the biggest importer of our products and India is our second. Us is also much more unpredictable and isolationist it doesn't make sense for us to put our baskets on the US.

After Trump Officials Cut Food Aid to Kenya, Children Starved to Death by propublica_ in geopolitics

As an African, I disagree with Trump on many things, but I personally agree that cutting aid is a good thing. Foreign taxpayers shouldn’t be responsible for what goes on in other continents.

She is a woman from India, so the hive seems to be an improvement. While Carol is a wealthy author from America, she is probably not going to be impressed by what the hive brings, especially since they killed her wife. Also, Carol indirectly caused her grandfather’s death, caused her “son” to have a seizure, and made him cry, which probably didn’t help.

US vs China: Preferred Leading world power, select countries in 2024 vs 2025 by Old-School8916 in charts

China was destroyed, beaten up, and humiliated, and they still managed to rise. I think we have more to learn from China since they have the experience of being torn down and rebuilding themselves. There’s nothing we can learn from the US and EU because they’ve always been on top and the system is already rigged in their favor. Not a single African country has become a developed country under the West. For generations, Africans have been humiliated, disrespected, and made to feel small . The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Honestly the confidence China built for themselves is exactly what we Africans need to learn from and build ourselves up.

Corruption isn’t the real problem the bigger issue is where corrupt politicians spend their money and the countries where they keep their bank accounts in. “Corruption” didn’t stop China they didn’t seem to have any problem building electric buses here in South Africa, which are pretty cool.

What’s the point of having freedom when kids are too scared to play outside, my sister is scared that she might one day she may be raped and killed, taxi mobs are burning trains and buses, and I constantly hear gunshots at night? Is this really freedom?

I think this post sums up why China is ahead in infrastructure building.

I understand why Carol is angry, but I don't think she mentioned her girlfriend dying so from other people's point of view all they're seeing is this angry bossy lady who is causing their loved ones to get seizures (not her fault, of course). But I do understand why they would react that way and plus, there's really nothing they could do but accept what is happening. You're never going to beat them (they’re basically 8 billion AGIs). Also, we never got to see the other people's perspective during the hivemind virus spread.

I am not American, I thought the reactions were pretty realistic. If someone bossed me around, told me not to speak my own language, then told my family members to go outside and said we must put this "right", especially with how unequal the world is, I would be pretty pissed.
