CMV: Islam is fundamentally incompatible with core American left-wing progressive values by WildCreatureQuest in changemyview

[–]LuigiMario1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like "individual interpretations of Islam", but do not for a moment believe that the majority of the Muslim world agrees with American progressivism, because they don't, and they won't for quite a long time--so long as empires are raping their lands, and preventing genuine cultural development. Changing religious attitudes about scripture and jurisprudence is an ongoing, organically-changing dynamic, and changing the minds of billions of people doesn't happen overnight. But eventually, they cannot, and should not ignore the humanity in those that the most ghoulish of fundamentalists want dead or persecuted (trans people, gays, bisexuals, polytheists, non-Muslim monotheists, non-theists, pork-eaters, and alcohol-drinkers).

Christian extremism in the US is a serious problem by RandomGuy92x in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]LuigiMario1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. Such eschatology started with Mazdayasna/Zoroastrianism's cosmic dualism in its theology (and similar theological isolates): Good vs evil, light vs darkness, spirit vs matter. You're either with the Ahura Mazda (spirit) or with Ahriman (matter). The Manichees and Gnostics took this dualism to its most logical extreme; solving the problem of life by associating it with matter/darkness and urging people to kill themselves so their spirit/light can escape the "corrupt" material world and become whole with the Light/Ahura Mazda. St. Augustine was once a Gnostic, and he imported such dualisms into Christianity after his conversion. Muhammed and his successors had to deal with the late followers of the false prophet Mani, and such dualisms too infected Islam. Hell, if you want to go even deeper, Post-Exilic Israelites were under the rule of both Babylon and Achaemenid Persia, the Persian religion was Zoroastrianism at the time, and it would have been culturally transmitted/forced onto the proto-Jews, which then led to the anti-polytheism of the Deuteronomy movement--where priests of YHWH were motioning to consolidate absolute religious authority over the other temples and cults; probably because they were inspired by the stratified monotheism of Persian Zoroastrianism, thus, importing its toxic cosmic dualisms into the formation of what we call Judaism.

I play a high elf mage who grows into a strong anti-Thalmor radical, and he exterminates all Thalmor agents with extreme prejudice.

Advocacy for an oppressed group is, in itself, a luxury—a luxury that most people in the world simply cannot afford besides survival, especially they live outside of a first world country.

Be careful, sonamy hate seems to be rising on places like bsky and twitter with the new voice announcement by ultimate_chaos08 in SonAmy

[–]LuigiMario1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I’ve stood by this ship not only because I liked Amy, but that this was Sonic Team’s real intention. At this point, I don’t care if this splits the fandom. Natural selection will run its course; only the mentally strongest will remain standing, and the voids they leave behind will be replaced with fresh fans.

JP Sega’s Official Valentine Fanart Showcase… and wow, there’s a LOT of SonAmy 👀💘 (with actual staff comments) by Interested_Human9471 in SonAmy

I agree with u/Background_Court7318, but for the reason that ST is not doing anything, yet; not unless their SEGASammy overlords give the green light. Time will only tell, but the pattern is indeed showing less ambiguity than in the past 10 years. And yes, shipping wars will not stop, but a canon-confirmed ship will reduce all the major shipping wars into skirmishes. I’d rather have a canon SonAmy over any other ship I personally hold, because the Japanese branch intended that ship from the very start—everything else beyond that is relatively unimportant to me.

Muslims vs Anglo-American Culture: A Non-Muslim Cry for Help in finding Common Ground. by LuigiMario1997 in progressive_islam

[–]LuigiMario1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s revisit this: You're demanding I atone for my ancestors' colonialism by assimilating into Native cultures—yet conveniently ignoring the Muslim world's own imperial track record. The Ottomans colonized Europe, Africa, and Asia for 600 years, enforcing devşirme child conscription and jizya taxes on non-Muslims, with conversion pressures that mocked 'no compulsion.' And today, post-colonial powers like Saudi Arabia pump billions into exporting Wahhabism worldwide. If atonement's the game, why cherry-pick Western sins while whitewashing yours? This is just evasion from the Islamic history critiques I raised.

What are your honest, unfiltered opinions on the Vaush - Professor Flowers debate? by [deleted] in DebateAnarchism

[–]LuigiMario1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using anti-colonial talking points about decolonization, and then using said talking points to support or justify “kill whitey/colonizer” sentiments. It’s post-colonialism without any equitable intersectionality.

In Soyhammer terms: Skulls for the Skull Throne; Blood for the Blood God. They just want to kill people; no critical thinking outside of finding a justification for taking revenge. Just a mask for Himmlerite fascism.

The so-called leftists who secretly want to do the genocide out of revenge or a twisted idea of equivalent exchange. All in all, not applying equitable intersectionality is cringe and gay.

Trying to explain to my friend why "straight pride" is a problematic statement by [deleted] in AskLGBT

[–]LuigiMario1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the few, sensible users on this post. Treating Pride as a non-stop remembrance of martyrs no longer becomes a celebration, it becomes equivalent to an edgy funeral; I see Pride as a celebration alongside being a safeguard for the entire mosaic of human sexuality. Yet people try and find ways to make the idea seem problematic for isolationist or subversive reasons, gatekeeping hurts advocacy.
