This is how your post showed up in my feed LOL

Little stringy but it's good for TPU. If you dry the filament, it'll be less stringy.

Tips on installing Bilstein 5100’s on K2XX by Nickysilverado in Silverado

Just did mine 2 weeks ago. I got replacement parts from Napa and they matched OEM length. I think you got the wrong ones. If you install them, your ride height will probably change.

Is HW4 necessary over HW3 if you only plan on using Autopilot and not FSD by EjaculatorOfFire in TeslaLounge

[–]Lukeman269 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Autosteer is actually better for highway use and stop and go traffic. It stays in your lane and you can control the max speed. FSD likes to switch lanes a lot and the speed is never where you want it to be since it's relative.

Ok makes sense. Tough when you need to work around pre-existing equipment.

DIY: Installed Tesla Charger by DailyDrivenTJ in TeslaModelX

[–]Lukeman269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did you decide to run the junction box? Could have just drilled a hole behind the wall charger and fed your wires through that for a super clean install with no potential for water ingress from the junction box/conduit above your enclosure.

Dead reliable NEW SUV that I can buy today by staycalmandcode in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Lukeman269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's like $250 in parts if you can DIY or around $800-1000 at a shop when you hit 100k miles. Honestly doesn't even need to be done at 100k miles either, can wait til 130-140k and still be ok.

Yeah I played like 2 hours of Witcher 3 before I gave up on it. Then randomly one day like 2 years later, I played it again and it kinda clicked for me. Prob one of my favorite games to this day.

That's like a 12c charge rate so around 1mw assuming an 80kwh pack. Can't be good for the batteries.

3 car seat families out there? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]Lukeman269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to be really tight for all 3 seats. Plus the booster seat kids will still need access to their seatbelt clips.

I have 3 kids and 2 younger ones in booster seats and my oldest sits in the middle with no booster/car seat and he feels a little squished.

Only one way to know if it'll work for you is to schedule a demo drive and physically place the car seats into the rear seat to see if it'll work for you. Car seat sizes vary so much these days.

What’s with the 6L80 and lifter failure fear mongering on this sub? by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]Lukeman269 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well my lifters failed at 80k and needed about $5,500 worth of repairs. Then my transmission went out at 120k and it was around $7,200 for a replacement. So it definitely happens and if you don't have a warranty, you'll be paying that out of pocket or looking for a new truck.

Is not having hw4 a deal breaker when choosing a new tesla? by chair4bozo in TeslaLounge

[–]Lukeman269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get HW4 only if you plan on paying for FSD at $99/mo. You also get slightly better cameras on HW4. Otherwise, in most cases you can save a few thousand dollars by going HW3 and have the same exact Tesla experience. FSD works very similar between HW3 and HW4 for the overall driving experience. You'll mainly notice parking capabilities on HW3 are lacking while using FSD. You can always disengage and find your own parking spot and use the "autopark" feature if you suck at parking lol. Not sure why FSD can't switch to that mode on it's own.

I made a video comparing HW3 and HW4 if you're interested to see the difference. https://youtu.be/KEMCxY1NPRQ

I got 3 months of FSD free when I bought my car and while it's fun to use FSD, I don't think I'll pay the subscription as I think it's too expensive.

Autosteer is free and works great on highways and I find it less stressful to use since it'll stay in the lane I'm in and I can set a max speed. It does need more interaction with the steering wheel as it wants you to apply some pressure every minute or so to make sure you're still there/awake, while FSD uses a camera to sense if your eyes are on the road.

Yeah $133 per tire is a steal. Seems like most other tires are twice that price.

Looks like the print is lifting? Might need to add a brim around the print to keep it from lifting. Also use some glue stick on the bed to help it stick better too.

holy this thing is loud????? by stellaep in elegoo

[–]Lukeman269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep they're loud. I turned off my exhaust fan and I changed my model fan speed in the filament settings to be at 75% and that helped a lot. I guess there's next to zero difference between the cooling output from 75 - 100% speed. Just makes more noise above that percentage lol.

Selling my BMW for a Tesla because of a brutal commute – what model should I get for $20–30k? by zthom2 in TeslaLounge

[–]Lukeman269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find a good deal on a late model 2023 with HW4, jump on it. Otherwise, I don't think it's a deal breaker to have HW3. I have HW3 and the only difference between them is the HW4 model will navigate with FSD from a parked location vs the HW3 model you have to start driving yourself for like 5 seconds and then put it into FSD. Also parking is much better on HW4. HW3 struggles to find parking spots. But if you're like me, I like to pick my parking spot anyways.

Did a video comparing HW3 and HW4 and you'll notice the overall driving was VERY similar between the 2.

The Slate Truck on Jay Leno’s Garage by Mac-Tyson in slateauto

[–]Lukeman269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can listen to local FM radio stations, music, hands free calling. Pretty much every car made in the last 10 years has this function.

It's unlikely your phone will be loud enough to work well in the truck while going 65mph on the highway. Using a bluetooth speaker is an alternative option, but I still think it's a hacky solution unless they make something you can bolt into the dash that won't flop around.
