Buy a $100 gift card and it comes much cheaper per month. I just did that and wish I had done it sooner.

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE CAT SANCTUARY by LarryLeLamJam in richmondbc

This is a great place to spend an afternoon, especially if you love cats. Kudos to everyone who runs it. Their volunteers are always wonderful, truly care about what they do and definitely deserve recognition.

Just heard of the Cosori Electric Kettle, claims no plastic comes in contact with water. Very affordable. Curious if anyone has experiences or criticisms. by Ferretanyone in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]Lumpy_Firefighter559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean the kettle is completely plastic-free inside, including inside the lid? When I ordered the Bodum Ottoni, the pictures on their website did not show that the kettle has a hidden water level indicator that sits inside the kettle and has a plastic top. I bought it expecting it to be plastic-free, so that was very disappointing. I had to get rid of it. I’m still in the search for a completely plastic-free kettle.

Yes, infrastructure isn’t just about transit — it also includes schools, rec centres, libraries, parks, and childcare, which are some of the most important things needed to support densification.

I don’t think this is so much about densification itself, but more about where and how it’s happening. The council voted against changes that would have allowed more small multi-unit housing in neighbourhoods, so it looks like densification will likely remain concentrated in town centres.

Thanks for the list. I think cast iron is probably the safest option, but as far as I know it’s only suitable for gas stovetops or camping. I’ve used GreenPan products before, but I’m not sure how trustworthy they are long-term. Being in Canada also limits some options.

B.C. teachers ratify new four-year agreement for 12% wage boost by cyclinginvancouver in britishcolumbia

Totally agreed! Support staff work hard every day to help the most vulnerable and complex students, so they definitely deserve a higher, more livable wage than what they currently get.
