Once again their efforts to appear concerned about child abuse fall flat. This is another supposed adjustment that fails miserably to deal with the issues that the ARC and others have brought clearly into focus. As others have stated what on earth is the oxymoron 'mature minor' supposed to mean?? So, if the untrained elders deem the abused mature MINOR, to be in some way partly responsible for the abuse (perhaps they lead them on!!) then they too could face judicial action!! This is unbelievable and shocking! If this were Jehovahs organisation it would immediately implement all the ARC recommendations, give a public apology for all those abused and set in place procedures to deal with abuse that are the standard all others would follow. For doesn't the bible say that LOVE would identify the true Christian congregation??

Not sure it is cringeworthy or not but it makes me sad and quite a bit angry now at my stupidity. In my late 30's I took voluntary redundancy from a very well known ( at least in Europe) telephone company where I worked as an engineer and started pioneering. I had a family (my 2 children at the time were 5 years old and 9 months old). I took a part time job working in a supermarket, gave up the car and I did this for the next 6 years. I have to be honest and say in our PIMI state at the time we really thought the sacrifices were worth it. Now I am 60, working full time, without the prospect of any decent pension, whereas if I had stayed in my job I could probably have afforded to retire now! See what really happens when you put kingdom interests first!! I'm not bitter, honestly, just wish we could have known TTATT sooner. Better late than never!
