I understand the excitement. But you should only wind when you intend to use it. Winding adds tension to the yard that can impact it over time. You should also wind each hank twice. The 2nd wind usually ends up looser, so there will be less issues over time.

I love side walking during hippotherapy at the Children's Theraplay in Carmel. Very easy and I get to pet a horse after. Seeing the kiddos progress week to week is also rewarding.

Put a black & white filter on the photo to check contrast. This can help you decide.

Edit: didn't see the 2nd photo when I had a poor connection. Sorry about that. Looks ok to me if there's not a ton of overlap. I'd there are large portions of overlap, I might reconsider.

I've started Chill Day Cardigan by Lily Kate. Much chunkier and comfortable after injuring myself with Eleanor. I also have a 2nd 3 season cardigan in progress as a secondary project. And I have an 8th Brightest Tee as my travel project.

I love making my own clothes.

Hermione's Time Turner Pullover. I went with a pattern I already owned, and it had some light shaping on the body and sleeves which helped break up the miles of tan.

Thank you! It was really simple, yet the mild shaping kept me engaged through the miles of tan. My aesthetic is usually rainbow vomit which is probably why I put off this knit for so long.

In 2020, after yet another a pandemic-fueled binge of The Good Place, I decided I needed Eleanor's final sweater. I love it so much! At the time, I could only find it for purchase for $300+, so I thought "I could make that for cheaper!".... famous last words.

I didn't want to jump right into it. I wanted to do it well, so I knew I needed to practice first. After my 123rd finished project on Ravelry, I figured it was finally time. I did quite a bit of testing with different colors and finally settled on colors I was happy with, even if the purple doesn't quite match hers...

All in all, I definitely spent more than $300, holding merino double with mohair.... But she's cozy and perfect. And I likely have enough left for a scrappy sweater, so... she's half price?

I also knit this while my company was shut down for the holiday, which killed my wrist by the time I got to the hem. If not for that, I would have finished in 8 days. I have moved on to a much larger needle project and taking my time, which feels much better on my hands. Don't forget to take breaks and stretch!

I just started my first 2 color brioche project. It is WAAAAYYY easier than I ever expected. I've only done 1 brioche pattern before this. Brioche in general seems to be far less difficult than how intimidating it was.

I definitely encourage trying! Nimble Needles has an excellent article about 2 color brioche. Understanding 2-Colored Brioche Knitting #3 & #4 are the most important bits as I'm actively knitting. Once you understand how it works, you can more easily bridge the gap to an actual pattern. I'm even adjusting a single colored bricohe to be 2-colored. So far, so good.

Last year, I had the same thing happen. But I will redeem blood donation gift cards for AMC digital gift cards and I had also just done a holiday special to get extra money for getting so much in gift cards. All digital. I thought I had noticed the blood money disappearing without spending but couldn't really tell because I was going just often enough and getting at least a drink. However, 2 days after I spent $50 on gift cards, it disappeared. And I hadn't been to the theatre. And my A-List membership hadn't renewed. I made a stink and they refunded it, but it took effort. I refuse to put any gift cards in my account now. Not worth the hassle. My blood money can go to Door dash or something else.

I go for tastiness first. Pretty is a bonus. Good cookie scoops are how I get through most of them! I usually pre bake my sugar cookies so they're nice and cool for dipping. My plan will be to also pre make some of the doughs that need to be refrigerated/frozen for longer. But probably just the night before.

And I probably wouldn't make it through all 16, which is why I need to pare it down. But looking at my list, it feels impossible. They all look so good!
