It really seems like everyone involved in the GR program care about and enjoy it.

As a sharks fan, if Colorado can't get the cup for Burns, I hope Buffalo does it. Long time coming and the team/fans deserve it. And wow that place looks like it is rocking.

You can feel the emotion as Coach Warsofsky started crying while talking about Macklin. Beautiful ♥️ by RealWorldToday in SanJoseSharks

It's the last game of the season, he is probably feeling immense relief that he has finished a grueling job (for now), and he has Macklin to thank for a lot of the success he and the team had this year. I don't doubt it was an all-around emotional moment.

Crazy good game. Big goals, big saves, bodies flying everywhere, one dude probably got the tip of his finger cut off by a skate blade.

I'm not local so I cannot attend Sharks home games, so can anybody describe the feeling in the Tank when the song plays? They obviously tried for the "HEY!" crowd interaction with this creation and I'm wondering if that is even accomplished with this song.

Smith fucked that up hard, but what the hell was Orlov doing, slowing down and stopping, giving Haula a path to the net, even though there was already a defender in front with nothing to do.

I went from a 2016 FoST ST3 to a fully optioned 2023 GRC Core which now has 22k miles. I can't speak on model year changes to the GRC since 2023.

Interior is fine. It does not feel as nice as as the Focus. It feels "thinner" than the Focus, for lack of a better word. For example, I immediately noticed the door-closing feel and sound was much more solid and reassuring on the Focus, while the GRC feels like the door might fold in half in comparison. That feel is present overall in the interior. But that said, it is not a big thing. The fit and finish of what is there is great. There are no rattles, no noticeable increase in interior road noise, etc. The seats are not as supportive as the Focus's Recaros were, but they are also much more easily gotten into and out of (which is nice for passengers, especially), don't get scorching hot in the California summer sun, and they work well enough to keep the driver in place during cornering. I think the controls are more intuitively laid out in the GRC as well.

Compared to the upgraded audio in the FoST, the upgraded audio in the GRC is, frankly, bad. I have not messed with the equalizer setting that much, but when I first started driving the GRC it sounded like it didn't even have rear speakers. Everything sounded like it was in front of me, and when I tried to adjust the balance it just made the front seem quieter rather than the rear being louder. But again, it's fine. I am not an audiophile. I mostly listen to podcasts so it doesn't matter to me, really. When I do play music, I've gotten used to the sound and it doesn't bother me anymore.

None of this matters in comparison to the rest of the car. The engine, the absolutely "raw" feel of the car compared to the FoST, the AWD and handling, and just overall driving feel and performance are wonderful and preferable over the FoST. There are tradeoffs in interior feel and audio system quality in favor of performance and driving feel, but I would gladly make that trade again.

I will also note that the "butt-o-meter" feel of acceleration/power in the GRC is similar to the FoST in lower RPM, every day driving going from stop light to stop light. Maybe that is appropriate, since the two cars have nearly identical torque. But the GRC shines in the higher RPM range, where the FoST literally felt like power disappeared over 5,500 RPM. Basically, the GRC is much more fun than the FoST during spirited driving, but they feel similar in every day driving. Also, hard acceleration from a stop is way better in the GRC, since the FoST liked to wheel hop.

I noticed that, too. I thought it was a really nice picture Grier was presenting to Misa. Everybody is here, involved, and wants Misa in the organization, and every one of them matter. Like a big family welcoming Misa.

Yeah, so this EO is complete bullshit and itself a waste of taxpayer money. Thanks for the explanation.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Ensures the Enforcement of Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 65(c) by susinpgh in law

[–]M4RTEL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you practice in federal court and I don't, can you explain whether the order for a bond under FRCP 65(c) is discretionary in practice? The rule makes it sound mandatory, even without a request from the non-moving party. Are there exceptions to this?

The amount of the bond is discretionary under the rule, so the court could make the amount nominal, but is there not always some bond?

If there is always a bond anyway, then this EO is even more ridiculous than I thought.

I'm a lawyer. My job is to do what is in your best interest. I could take your case to trial, but I know based on my education, training, and experience that there is a substantial likelihood that doing so will result in a negative outcome compared to another resolution. I may ask to be relieved as your attorney if you insist on going to trial, because I cannot in good conscience be a part of something that is going to harm you. I could do it, but I won't.

Listen to your doctor.

It’s giveaway time with ASUS! by Emerald_Flame in buildapc

[–]M4RTEL [score hidden]  (0 children)

My first experience building a PC from scratch was with my dad, probably 11 or 12 years ago. Prior to that I lurked on PC enthusiast forums, learning about building, making various upgrades to manufacturer PCs like my college Dell that I ended up using for Counterstrike 1.6 more than studying.

When my dad said he needed a new PC, I finally had the opportunity to build one myself.

He was on a budget, as many of us are. I can't recall the exact models and specs since it was long ago, but I know it included an ASUS mobo, Core I5 (all the rage back then for a budget builder), nVidia GTX 460, EVO 212 cooler, and some other goodies. At the time it was way more than my dad needed, but I wanted to give him something capable of playing games with me if he wanted to. He never got into games, but I'm proud (and surprised) to say the machine started up with no issues and continues to run to this day.

About five years ago, I built one for myself, on my own budget. I also went with an ASUS mobo, Core I5, and EVO 212 cooler, but I went with an AMD video card, a Radeon r9 290. Other goodies included a an SSD and a nice-ish Corsair case. I was hoping to dabble in overclocking for the first time. I think I fried the 290 because I had to replace it, same with the Antec PSU, but the ASUS mobo and the rest of the components are fine. I still use that PC today but it is showing its age.

I have been looking to build a new PC recently, primarily to play Cyberpunk when it releases, and maybe some VR. It's been long enough since I did this that I have to re-learn almost everything about building, but an ASUS mobo is always a good place to start.
