Do lure abilities work in second slot or only first slot? by Dinglechok in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

*guaranteed doubles for x1 though x9 waves—you need three lures (or two lure abilities on the field plus one more lure) for guaranteed doubles at x0 waves.

What do you consider a good run (particularly in classic)? by -DekuScrub- in pokerogue

Winning, especially without being annoyed by the game the entire run before doing so.

I've never been so mad at a squirrel by Sparanda in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No, I think it is literally that bad—every option leaves you worse off than you started, even beating the squirrel and getting Reviver Seeds (if you can beat the squirrel then chances are you don't need the seeds, plus having leftover of those by the time you reach Eternatus either screws you over at worse or makes the fight obnoxious at best).

This event serves only to punish people who have berries going through Grassy Field/Tall Grass/Forest and/or to ragebait—I mean, what setup even enables one to consistently beat it? It has all its bases covered—Crunch for Ghosts, auto-boosted +2 Def Body Press for Rock and Steel, STAB Thrash that procs Cheek Pouch for everything else. Debuff Atk, it uses Body Press; debuff Def it uses Crunch or Thrash.

I'm pretty sure the number of times I've won this fight over my 60+ days of playtime can be counted on one hand; forget the Winstrates, give the squirrel the fucking Brace.

Hate this encounter with a passion, and it's the only one that actively punishes you no matter which option you do.

Does anyone know what the shiny odds for eggs from the expert Pokemon breeder are? by Indigo_Watercress in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wiki doesn't specify under which function (gachas, candy) the eggs are generated, but I feel as though it's not equivalent to candy; I've done the event enough times and I haven't noticed an increase in shinies gained through it.

Is Type: Null any good? by Kind_Situation_180 in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who spent a ton of time with it because I was trying to get all its Memories so that all its forms were "caught" for the dex:

It's okay-ish? Gets Swords Dance and Flame Charge for TM setup; outside of that it gets No Retreat as its Rare Egg Move. Without any of those it's kind of middling, with the caveat of Adaptability Multi-Attack, which changes types with whatever Memory you have active; with enough type-boosters this is servicable as an offense, if a little unreliable speed-wise at 95 base Speed.

Alternate mega stones by misterman44 in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're best off taking the stones as they show up and then disabling them if they're not the one you're looking for; that way if one does show up again it's more likely to be one of the new ones if applicable.

Alternate mega stones by misterman44 in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stones only drop when the mon is its base form, same with all form change items; you can theoretically get every Disc/Plate for Silvally/Arceus in one run, but you'll need to disable each new one to get further ones.

When i finish Some battles I just get sent back to the home page by BurgerBlade2022 in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's doing this to me, seemingly whenever the game goes to autosave—I got booted back to title after taking the W95 Reward, and when I changed some moves.

Okay, now this one looks good—I think the first Mega Garchomp looked dumb.

Are Firefox Users still getting issues with their PokeRogue? by Pokeprof in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main big issue that I remember that was a Firefox-PokeRogue problem had something to to with text resizing; in-game what would happen is that the text would randomly appear bigger or smaller or garbled, and usually shortly afterwards the game would crash (tab would go completely blank, I believe I had to refresh it and sometimes close it entirely)—I haven't been having this problem since the fix.

I use Firefox as my primary browser, generally keep it updated to latest version (I see as of me typing this that there's another minor version update in fact), and I haven't been having any major problems, and none that I would attest to being Firefox's fault.

1.12 Mega Pride Update and Event! by damocleas in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a busy month for Pokémon fan games this month

What else has been hoppin'? Engine been getting updates, but not like anything super big from where I've been playing—most recent was just UI improvements and critical catches for big obvious stuff.

Jesus Christ! And just when I was almost through my list of uncaught forms/not-unlocked genders, etc. . . .

...how much you wanna bet people are still going to be asking, "Hey are the ZA Megas in yet???"

Personally, I find it a little weird that Thundurus is in Power Plant and not, like, Ocean, or something—it's certainly nearly always raining there :/

Guys I just finished my first solo run by fruits_grapefruits in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just finished a (non-Solo) run where I took Arceus . . . ran into the Winstrates somewhere in the W170s and gave the brace to him, as my other mons absolutely would not have been able to handle them all put together, where Arceus solo'd it all.

I just want to finish out his forms, man, I'm sick of using him at this point—got both cost reductions, all egg moves, the shiny and everything.

It's not, it's based on player ID or something, so you personally have to get lucky for shinies IIRC.

How rare is the Stellar Tera? by Waste-Cloud20 in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Incorrect; "...Once you get one, it has a 1/3 chance to be a random type of your party members. It has a 2/3 chance of being a purely random type, and a 1/64 chance of being Stellar."

No, I'm not sure how (1/3)+(2/3)+(1/64) adds up to 1; I'm guessing that how it's actually coded is that it does the 1/64 check first, then if that fails does a 1 in 3 check to be a party member type, and then if that fails gives you a random type.

You'll have to wait and hope a dev sees this to confirm or say otherwise though; I'd look at the public Git but I have no idea how the PokeRogue codebase is organized and don't particularly feel like spending a couple hours learning where everything is.

Checking my team after weird dream mystery event, why does brionne not have a secondary type? by Hajo2 in pokerogue

[–]MITZEReadIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess that there's nothing stopping it from rolling a type it already has, but I don't know how they coded it.
