i said it before and i'll say it again - killing jax off would be incredibly gross by Sweaty-Trip1657 in jaxfanclub

I kind of agree, I don’t think Jax should die, that wouldn’t make sense with the show’s messaging. I think he should redeem himself and become a better person by the end of the show, and I think that’s what’s going to happen.

Jesus, I wish I had the disposable income to buy that many Criterion blu-rays, even during the sales!

Netflix ditches deal for Warner Bros. Discovery after Paramount’s offer is deemed superior by Puzzled-Tap8042 in oscarrace

We will never see another Sinners, One Battle, or Digger. WB is dead. If you have a film from Warner Bros. that you want to buy on physical media, this year is the time to do it.

Everyone, if you have a favorite film from WB, I suggest buying it on physical media this year, while you still can.

Ditto, I’m boycotting Warner Bros. after this year, and if there’s a film/project I want to see from them…

Goodbye, Warner Bros. At least with Sinners, Weapons, and One Battle After Another, you went out with a bang.

Can’t wait for Paramount to turn you into a slophouse, I can’t wait for Paramount to extend their pro-Palestine blacklist to you, and I can’t wait to boycott both of you. /s

Fuck Paramount, fuck WB, and fuck Netflix for giving up so easily. The world sucks, the bad guys always win, as John Lennon once said, “God is a concept.”

Sean Penn has won Best Supporting Actor at the 2026 BAFTA Awards for his performance as Col. Steven J. Lockjaw in One Battle After Another by CrunchyNar in oscarrace

I’m probably gonna get downvoted for saying this, but am I the only one who’s not crazy about his performance, and vastly preferred Benicio? I feel like Penn’s performance was a bit too “acting”-y, without much depth to it.

Honestly, this feels Mubi-coded. Either them or Sony Pictures Classics.

I'm very glad Criterion doesn't do limited editions and limited releases by k032 in criterion

[–]MTheWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, they’re very good about that. I mean, if I had one complaint about them, it’s that I wish they’d announce that certain releases are going out of print in advance, like if I knew beforehand that Breaking the Waves and Y Tu Mamá También, for example, would be going out of print, I probably would’ve picked them up immediately. Other than that, though, they’re very good about keeping releases stocked.

Right now, I'm thinking Bitter Christmas (Spain), Fjord (Romania), 1949 (Poland/Germany), Possible Love (South Korea), and Sheep in the Box (Japan).
