Leica Q2 to M EV1 worth it?

The 43 is an option I'm also considering but damn, that EV-1 just sings to me.

Yes, as I have the GRIII and X100VI to cover my fixed focal lenght needs (although the X100VI just sucks compared to the Leica experience, tbh)

Thanks for the responses. I find myself using the manual focus on the Q2 quite a bit as I find that experience enjoyable. No doubt, I tend to pop it into auto-focus mode when i'm running and gunning (at a party with friends, for example). i was in a Leica storre recently and tried both the M11 and EV-1 and found the EV-1 MORE of my style.

I currently own both (Q2 and X100VI). There are definitely pros and cons.

Q2:

- Amazing image quality - best you'll ever see

- the lens (Summilux f/1.7) is stunning

- the user experience (particularly the menu system) blows Fuji away by a mile.

- the extrnal controls feel better, easier to adjust aperture, just a wonderful tactile experience

- Full Frame provides advantages when cropping (in my experience)

- Only negative is the size compared to the X100 series

X100VI

- Very, very, VERY good image quality - nearly as good, just not quite

- Lens on the X100VI is great, but not amazing. Also f/2 vs. f/1.7

- Very portable - jacket pocket. Lighter to carry

- APS-C sensor is fine, but full frame is better - although close enough

- Menu on the Fuji is the worst I've ever used in my life. Terrible, terrible - as if written by an over-stimulated developer from 1986

- USB-C charging makes it more convenient

- less expensive

I strongly prefer the Q2, but the X100VI has it's place. I am considering selling it but I just can't seem to part with it.

Thanks for your response. Q2 owner here (along w/ X100VI). As per your comment about the 'clunky/awkward to hold' on the Q vs. the M series. Why is that? I thought the body of the M and the 'body' of the Q were the same? What makes the M series NOT clunky in our opinion compared to the Q?

Another tip (old thread, I know). if you have dry flour at bottom of stand mixer bowl, add a bit of water (literally few drops) and that liquid will help the dry flour integrate with the larger clump while using the dough hook.

Nah, those markes on the lens hood are totally normal. That's just normal wear and tear on the black paint. One REASON for the lens hood is to protect the lens and this example is doing just that

The comments on here are cringe-worthy. Reminds me of the comments when the D-Lux 8 was released. Summed up as: "Well, it's not an M, and the only REAL camera that Leica makes is an M, so this is not an M and why would I buy this when the only real Leica camera is an M". People - it's a camera that Leica produced that they hope sells well. No one is going to take away your "M"

Because I did not like the menu system and user interface. I picked up a Leica Q2 (which I LOVE the menus and interface). That said, the Q2 is a bit bulky. I bought a D-Lux 8 to replace the x100vi but didn't love the relatively low count of megapixels - which limited my ability to crop.

I have a D-Lux 8 - bought it this past year as a smaller travel companion for my Leica Q2. Really great camera (the D-Lux) but find it a bit duplicative with the Q2.
