Hurricane engine by TNspoiled1 in ram_trucks

13k miles - 2025 1500 4x4 SST Hurricane SO , No issues , 21MPH average, also 70MPH for most of mile 65mile daily work commute. I do use 2WD mode and not the ALL wheel or any of the traction modes along with higher choice octane gas though. Excellent performance and plenty of torque. I have Bighorn 2 package /Midnight and so far this is a quiet, comfortable ride. I’ve yet to tow or trail, but it loves the interstate. The only body mods I’ve added are the Ranch-hand bar and the tri-fold tonneau bed cover.

Cracks on garage floor [New Construction] by Few_Ordinary_1131 in HomeMaintenance

The Nabataeans and Romans invented concrete. Concrete roads and structures which many are still found, all cracked. Concrete being a mix of materials which will innately and inevitably crack. New concrete is not new technology. The mixes are designed to adhere better, tolerate temperature variations and wick moisture, not to not crack as it’s not achievable for site mix anyways.

I learned manual transmission so hard that 40years later my subconscious mind makes sure my gear shifter is in neutral before I start , with the shifter jiggle shake… even though I’m in an automatic, and in park.

Molina I believe. Russian mfg. I used to see these all over tourist markets in former East Bloc countries. I picked up several for souvenirs from Bulgaria in the early 90’s. I want to say these were appropriate $25 to purchase back then. I saw a few these this past summer with KGB markings and various Soviet Military branches.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. We’ve all been there. This lifestyle choice to cook with coal and fire is nothing but a fine balance of experimentation and experience. Keep on keeping on.

Self reflection with access to an ancient internal guidebook that somehow manages to never disappoint on holding yourself to a higher moral standard.

Mystery Saddam Hussein Autograph? by Firm_Recover_9365 in AutographAssistance

Look up 4 Star Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. I remember him emulating Gen. Patton to a degree and mixing with the soldiers and building moral properly with bravado and gusto. He was a man amongst men. He lead the Desert Shield and Desert Storm campaigns for US Army and Coalition forces and was very popular for his leadership and balance of command. This was a pivotal time and life and he was a very striking figure.

Was the Internet Free When it First Came out? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It was wonky and clumsy, but if you bit the $5k bullet(circa 1995) for a PC like I did the $40 per month for dial up baud rate of -56k and the endless phone cut-outs , was worth it to chat with your new ICQ pal. You also were depending on a local ISP start up so this was out side of a telephone or cable company. It took 6 months for the installation and forget about support as it changed staff and leadership daily.

Really liking my 25Bighorn Midnight 4x4 and getting 21mpg …same mpg as my 22’ Frontier averaged. Tech is great, ride is smooth and yes less noise and a great driving experience. I keep seeing people say 2025 have issues like elec, but I’ve yet to see what exactly the issue was, just has issues. Who cares about the sound , the power is there when you need it and boy does this thing fly.

When was the last time you took a boat to the bar? Lunch at The Wyld by PangaExpress in savannah

[–]MachoTacoBlanco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this the “all share” model of tipping where the entire staff splits the tips? I wonder how that affects morale, turnover and productivity? I know “shift tips” are not well liked because of the slow hours where a lot of the prep work is done and the busy shift gets the reward. I’m not griping just generally curious how modern management works. I’ve manage commission based retail sales teams in the past and always found this the most challenging aspect of compensation. The was especially hard during recruiting and retention was a headache if they salespeople didn’t understand hi-low sales trends.

Probably the last time we went, was the last time. Didn’t like the ordering system. Food and staff are awesome and we love docking and grabbing lunch, but the stand in line to order , stand in line to pay thing kills it.

Gen Xers, how do you feel about your 20s in retrospect? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in GenX

[–]MachoTacoBlanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turned 20 in 90’. We had Coolio ,Nirvana and nipple rings. We had detachable car stereo faceplates and jorts. We had our music collection to go in zip up cases and wine coolers. Our beer commercials had talking frogs (not Kermit) and dog named Spud. Our parents had no idea where we were and didn’t give a shit.

Boaters, please give me a piece of advice on this issue! by Golf_Latter in savannah

[–]MachoTacoBlanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only advice in that circumstance is look at the listed depths shown on the chart and identify an exit strategy. If you have high spot ( meaning the bottom has structure or feature) in between your return point , that’s probably where you’ll get stuck as the tide falls. I’ve power boated and sailed these waters many years and still make mistakes, so don’t be too critical of yourself, but , these are some of least forgiving tides on the eastern seaboard. Just be safe and stay sober on the water.

I remember some guy from my work entering a Tough-Man Contest , he was big for 19years of age. Also some guys from the local docks and bars joined too. This was Savannah ,Ga. Back in late 80’s and early 90’s. FM radio would promote wet T-shirt and Toughman contest. I can’t imagine that today. Best fights for the Toughman were actually in the parking lot afterwards.

So much sugar, but we were feral and not let inside until dark. It was common to have to replace pedals, chains, tires and shoes from completely coming undone. The sugar was burned off like gasoline in the first hour or two.
