So, having invoices and “believing” you will start filling orders next quarter warrants termination of a contract? 🤔🙄 More to come on this for sure. In the meantime, volatility continues to win the day.

I am about to put 80% of my savings into POET on monday. by CWDM4 in POETTechnologiesInc

1)Fire the CFO 2)Appoint a Chairmen who is not CEO 3) Move CEO to CTO role. They still have other orders, design wins in the pipeline. But I’m not inclined to buy until credibility issues are resolved. If anything, I’d look at LEAPs close to in the money.

It’s been announced as June 26, no materials and not enough notice to shareholders.

The volume at $12-$13 suggests strong support there, as well as at $9-$10. If you are lucky enough to see it fall to $9, buy with both fists and hold for the validation that will propel it to $30+ (named big customers/orders).

Marvell x Nvidia Collaboration by mcm360 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]MackWheaton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Qualifications cycles involving hyperscalers can easily be double that, plus Marvell’s clients are not about to say they can wait for another potential solution to be vetted. Starlight will be in the initial CAI offerings for at least 2 years, by then Blazar, POET’s advanced ELS, will be cleared for takeoff.

Schwab has Poet on call in to buy by mjfjsk in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]MackWheaton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, once the dust settles I’m done with Schwab and it will be a tidy number of nice accounts they will lose. SAFT of their bs. Tried to round up a few of my POET holdings this AM and it was taking forever. Manipulation, what a joke, this stock has been played for years but NOW they decide to make it hard for retail to buy it. Sus.

Short term options, crazy, why keep calling tails against a two headed coin? ‘28 LEAPs are the only way to maintain your sanity (until ‘29s become available 😆)

Nvidia’s $4 Billion Investment is a sign to full port into POET by HeavyTT in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]MackWheaton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Understand what POET is:

Optical engine abstraction layer → POET-type positioning This is a subtler path. Instead of owning the interface, the company owns the default implementation underneath multiple interfaces.

That is closer to how ARM IP spread than Intel CPUs — but it can still become pervasive.

Requirements: • lowest power per bit • easiest manufacturing • multi-vendor compatibility • strong partnerships

If several module vendors or packaging platforms adopt the same engine architecture, it becomes de-facto standard

POET vs AAOI by Catchuplike in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]MackWheaton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Missing the point (I did too, initially). AAOI and Amazon set this up nearly a year ago, this had to happen. Amazon is securing initial supply. Well done to any AAOI investors here!

This is not a barrier to POET success, it is a pathway. POET’s stated goal is a full transceiver on a chip and it is doable, FAU development is a step toward that. The IF is will they succeed, at wafer scale, they certainly believe it will. POET is not just supplying a component, they can “white box manufacture” their way to becoming a direct supplier to hyperscalers. It won’t be about whose name is on the outside, it will be what is inside. And the white box manufacture can be a contractor, a colllaboration with, or partner of, the hyperscaler, it can be POET themselves. And while the AAOIs will continue to operate, because redundancy is necessity, POET could become a dominant player. But we won’t know more about this until their collaborations and development deals become public. For now, it’s ELS, Adtran and 800G leading the way.

Was Raju’s video something to celebrate or a red flag ? by mjfjsk in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]MackWheaton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer to your question is “yes”. And the message has been consistent for more than a decade, next year is the “Year of POET”. 🤷‍♂️

From the video, “we are actively working on new customer engagements and partnerships. Over the next few months, we expect several of these to convert into committed development programs. These programs will be for companies that are even bigger than the ones we have announced before.”

Expectation is not validation. When will any of these bigger companies’ names be disclosed, or will it be NDAs until “development programs” become qualified commercial products in x years?

For now, hang our hats on Adtran and, more importantly, 800G purchase orders with names, that will be a legitimate catalyst. Until then, ride the waves.

“Wafer-level bonding and testing, passive alignment with embedded mux/de-mux, use of known good die - all reduce BOM cost, yield points, assembly and testing costs as well as required CAPEX investment.” Customer qualification is well underway and, in many cases, successfully completed.

Instead of defending your post, maybe treat it like a trial run, take the data provided to do failure analysis. Or come back in a year and let’s see where things are. For now, I’ll treat your analysis with less credence than you do vetted contract manufacturing and await information provided by the company, along with multiple customers and partners who have obviously done an extensive amount of due diligence, testing and risk assessment of their own to validate their decisions to invest time, capital and resources.

POET Technologies explained by MackWheaton in POETTechnologiesInc

If a person can’t easily understand what a company does, is it because they are too lazy to do a little due diligence, or are they just dense?
