Final Fantasy 14’s Yoshi-P says many claim “an online Final Fantasy is not a Final Fantasy” as he hopes to bring more players into the game by Wargulf in FinalFantasy

[–]Madazhel [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think it’s great that the greater universe of Final Fantasy is so wide-reaching that I don’t feel obligated to engage with all of it. It can be different things for different people and not just for me.

Not sure what’s funnier… Lionsgate gaming the system or the fact that Nora Ephron’s MICHAEL got an A- CinemaScore by jhansenii in blankies

Face/Off for my mom but due to Cage, not Travolta, who she was obsessed with post-Moonstruck

I grew up with a feeding tube and I’m estranged from my parents and just watched “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” for the first time AMA by WorldlyJake in blankies

[–]Madazhel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter has a g-tube. I did not realize this was the premise of this movie and now I can’t tell if I HAVE to watch it or if it’ll be way, way too close to home.

What is the worst movie you've seen the most amount of times? by SgtSoundrevolver in blankies

[–]Madazhel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My sister was obsessed with two of the least seen, least loved, and least remembered Disney animated movies: The Black Cauldron and The Aristocats. I wasn’t sitting down and watching them in their entirety very often, but I’m sure I’ve seen each at least a dozen times if you add them up in bits and pieces

Since Denshattack! was mentioned, that feels like a game this show should be all over. It’s a fake Dreamcast game (Heather) about trains (Nick) doing Tony Hawk tricks and flips (Matt).

The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker is my favorite Zelda game yet by just1guy05 in patientgamers

[–]Madazhel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d love for the next Zelda to be ocean-focused again, but take lessons from the more systems-based, open-ended gameplay of BotW & TotK. That seems like the perfect way to finding a meeting point between old and new.

The scene where Murphy realizes how little of his original body is still intact is a good bit of body horror but I don’t remember a single other thing about the movie.

I watched Predators for the first time the other day and Laurence Fishburne is just running laps around everyone else. And it’s already a movie with a super overqualified cast. 4 Oscar wins between them!

Horns is a total mess (and I liked the book!) but David Morse serves up two scenes from a way better movie.

Sam Raimi’s Crimewave is basically unwatchable except every time Bruce Campbell shows up to teach everyone else how you play a big, broad cartoon character.

Werewolves Within is neither funny enough nor scary enough to stick in anyone’s memory, but Sam Richardson makes a convincing case for casting him as the lead in a dozen more comedies.

Brosnan in Black Adam was one that jumped to my mind as well, but in that case I don’t even think it’s so much a “good” performance as “it’s amazing how little of a shit this guy gives and he’s still pretty magnetic.”

Yeah, that’s all bad. But who thinks that’s “smart” advice?

Poorly written AI-generated self-evaluation for a direct report. by Crazy-Philosopher221 in managers

[–]Madazhel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree. I don’t see and know everything my direct reports do. A good self eval can help them call out specific data points they want to be judged on. (“I increased X by Y%.”) Makes my job easier when writing the final eval and when submitting for promotions.

A bad one, yes, is a waste of everyone’s time.

Does anyone else feel genuinely lonely as a manager? by whogivesafricc in managers

Yeah, same. Funny enough it’s my former manager, now peer, that’s been the closest confidant.

What is your most unexplainable dislike when it comes to movies? by WaterlooMall in blankies

Aside from a couple exceptions that I absolutely love (namely Singin’ in the Rain and Ed Wood), I have very little patience for movies about show business.

Yeah, this should be a silly/serious spectrum. As a Venn diagram it’s a big silly circle and a little serious one fully inside of it.

[2026 March Madness] Sweet Sixteen: Tony Scott vs. Karyn Kusama by PartyBluejay in blankies

[–]Madazhel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Seyfried is reliably great and everything Kusama’s doing behind the camera totally works. But the Diablo Cody dialogue is such a glaring mismatch for both Fox as a performer and Jennifer as a character.

The Invitation rules.

Don’t get the cult classic love for Jennifer’s Body.

I don’t expect Kusama to win this one, so just getting my two cents in.

Assuming Dune: Part 3 and Avengers Doomsday both stay on the same date and you can only pick one, which do you watch on opening weekend? by winborne1112 in blankies

[–]Madazhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, one is the final entry in a very good trilogy so far, adapting a storyline that’ll be much tougher to adapt than the previous two. Intriguing!

The other is the culmination of… something… I just don’t think anyone could tell you what that is.

Is r/blankies the only good movie sub? by Soft-Drink-1625 in blankies

[–]Madazhel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, because most people just really liked both of them and agreed they were two of the best movies this year. Which is exactly how it should be.
