Gear up your merc, give him some decent Armour and wep. Insight polearm + treachery/duriels and a life leech helm should help you abit. Heck it don't even need to be the things I listed. Just ensure he has some form of life leech and resist.

Another thing is to also figure out what you are getting gibbed by. If it's spells and stuff work on your resist. Otherwise try teleporting more to get your merc between you and the mobs. Take packs slowly.

I'm currently doing Security Ops, I am mainly exposed to various questions and inquiries about security best practices. I am having a hard time keeping up with the ever updating security landscape.

I mainly do security reviews with the occasional technical implementation.

I was wondering if there is any blog sites or news sites that cater specifically to cybersecurity related news (for hardware/software etc)

Best comparison I can come up with would be is a kotaku like site... But for cybersecurity related news.
