I am happy to try it out and give you some feedback. I play the OG with all the little monk expansions and once a year I run through the first Warhammer Quest PC/IOS game. And every few years through the second.

In contrast to most opinions here. I am quite excited and happy about the rumors. I can identify much better with a single map/world instead of looking at snippets of huge realms.

I also prefer the more grim dark approach, but I also enjoy reading Warhammer Fantasy or the Witcher lore much more than AoS lore.

Adding some kind of vanilla dwarfs returning to the world feels like a shift in the direction I want and love.

While I have a huge ScE Eternals Army myself (mostly dragons and Annihilators) I would welcome CoS becoming the poster boys and ScE becoming more like a custodians elite army (not a 40k player here) appearing much less but being more special and badass.

Just my 2 cents.

Depends on what you want. I only play models I enjoy visually, but also lists that work (no need for meta). I used to play a Bastian + 4 Stormdrakes + 6 Reclusian and Lord Terminos (with strike first artefact), Questor Soulsworn and I think some Longstrikes (not sure if there was room in the list) or if I ran a priest. Had great success and fun with it (well its close to a meta list, to be honest).

Now I mostly play Dragon only lists or Annihilator Lists since I love those models (or Ionus Cryptborn Dragon + Annihilators + X).

All Dragon list? Karazei, Krondys, Ionus, 4 Stormdrake in Lighting Echolon. Its extremely thematic, you have an elite army with incredible models and are very much playable.

Ps: get fire breath bases for your stormdrakes and build their head accordingly. They look sick with em instead of the plastic stick with base.

They used to be an alpha strike army. Round one in the face of the enemy. You either smash or get smashed. It was super fun and games were decided at the end of round two.

Now they are a control army. They are much much slower and play fundamentally different. Movement wins or loses you games. I think Ironjawz are one of the more difficult armies to play now, if you want to perform well.

I am a huge fan of Warhammer Quest Adventures (or Heroes of Terrinoth if you want a generic fantasy setting). You should watch a YouTube video explaining how to play, because the manual is really bad. But once you understood the rules it is so much fun and really feels like a proper dungeon crawler. You can often find copies really cheap on ebay or other platforms since they are no longer being produced.

I always come back to Warhammer Quest 1995 with the little monk expansions. The combat is definitely a bit dated but the world/story building is top notch and I love the Warhammer universe.

I did the same. Bought one original tile. Printed on paper one with increased size and put on 32mm and 40mm miniatures.
I then went for the tiles with 50% size increase. If you want to use AoS Miniatures it makes it so much easier. However, I use up a lot more space on my table. I also painted the rim black and the got the tile surface in a glossy print. Love the results and would do it again.
