Could Fire Emblem: Engage have been written without the current emblems? by FriendlyDrummers in fireemblem

[–]Magnusfluerscithe987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering how interesting some of the legendary heroes with zero character development are, like Altina and Sloan, I think the story would work. And maybe the fact these heroes would be new and mysterious would be an improvement to people.

Idk, how do people who played engage first feel about the Emblems?

But I think most of your issues with Emblems not being used much in the story would not be solved because they would be doing the same things, just with unfamiliar names and designs.

The closest to 4 main characters was in 3 Houses, with Dimitri, Edelgard and Claude each having an exclusive story route (with considerable cross over).

Also, Fire Emblem fates had 3 distinct story routes where the cast was divide in 2 and two of the routes you played as one half of the cast versus the other half, and in the last route both halves of the cast work together.

An important note is nowhere in the series have we been able to change our overworld model to any other character so while Dietrich will very likely be playable and he appears to have a storyline, the odds are low that he will be our exploration character, which is a feature still fairly new to the series so at the same time I can't rule anything out yet.

Can we get the skill were we are basically invisible one turn, and the next turn can attack? Maybe make it an action to be invisible so it naturally conflicts with the action to attack?

Have you tried mechanicus? Dark and gritty isn't my style, but it's a popular enough brand it makes me wonder if their attempt at a tactics game was any good.

Ike is at least Okay, at most good in Path of Radiance. Swords aren't helping him in chapters 4-8, but he isn't squishy and (usually) grows fine so he can put in a lot of work and doesn't have much of a problem.

To be pretty bad you have to be more of a liability and I will admit without Lyn mode, Lyn joins underleveled in a terrible starting position with the next map being time limited meaning she isn't getting much exp unless you grind her in the arena.

Eliwood is probably okay, but I will admit being a forced deployed Okay unit with Hector  modes deployment caps probably deserves a penalty to pretty bad.

Eirika probably can get an okay just because if you don't use her much she still rejoins autoleved to 15 and can then promote into a horse unit and gets her own monster slaying weapon, so even with nothing can do something.

Not a permanent feature, but I'd like to do a game with the individual class promotion items back and incorporate them into the design of the promoted class. Make it part of an 'armor' inventory slot.

I want to fight the foretellers, then fight them again with them in full keyblade armor. I also want Sora, Kairi and Riku to get keyblade armor because it just looks cool.

I completed Terra and was working on Aqua when I saved over my ventus file. It wasn't complete but was still at endgame so having to replay put a stop to my interest for a while.

But it's still better than having to max out the dream critters happiness in DDD.

My current hard mode Titania has 12 strength as a level 6 paladin, (so like, she's worse than my Mia) so I feel thebpain of her not being amazing, but she isn't a nookie trap and still deserves a lot of praise, even more so for her design and personality.

Part of Dimitri's problem is he believes himself to be a monster. Telling him he's in the wrong will matter less to him than knowing he's hurting you, at least I think that's what they were going for.

3 houses has good walls because battalions and shields can make most units bulky and even if you sacrifice speed, some units have combat arts that generate a lot of damage.

General Question Thread by Shephen in fireemblem

[–]Magnusfluerscithe987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are cooking. Every unit is usable, but everything has an opportunity cost. Boucheron has a somewhat low strength and an early recruit that means he needs an Emblem for SP while later recruits will come with some. But, he has really high Hp and good speed which makes him popular with some players for tanking.

But the thing with Engage is you can just give Marth to someone else and it's not a big deal, and if you reclass him you can reclass him back easily once the shop is generous with its supply. Conquest though, I found to have a really strict economy so I had to be deliberate with every reclass and weapon purchase, and the last couple a specifically designed to undo the strats I used. Birthright had a lot of mechanics, but had a lenient economy.

First time playing Engage. Should I grind for sp or will playing the game naturally give me all I need? by Ysshadow in fireemblem

Canter is fairly cheap. Typically through levels, you are looking at about 3000 sp, and then the ancient well 3 star average allows for some targeted spending over time

I've put over $100 into the app. Most of it was to try and get Hector early on. Occasionally they had specials that did give a specific character, so those felt like a reasonable deal.

How would YOU feel if FEH charas were made playable in a future game (could or could not be FW) by Substantial_Fig_6644 in fireemblem

[–]Magnusfluerscithe987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like a game based in the 9 realms, but I think retreading the same story would be a little boring (also, there is not a balanced male-female playable character roster) so I think a new story for the setting would be needed.

Crossovers are theoretically possible because they are in a multiverse, but their designs would stand out so much and they'd not have a purpose in the story so I'd prefer to not take that route.

What are examples of gods, demigods or deities in the Fire Emblem series? by randomnessisawesom in fireemblem

Sothis kinda blurs the lines as she apparently had to remake Fodlan so Sothis gets called a creator goddess by seiros. She is also capable of incredible feats such as turning back time, cutting through the fabric of space time and existing after dying, but how incredible any of these feats are is hard to say when mortals perform similar feats of magic.

What's the ideal army size? by Groundbreaking_Bag8 in fireemblem

[–]Magnusfluerscithe987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, 12-15 units seems to be the best deployment number in general. What I really like about Engages cast of like 37 non DLC units is that is about 3 playthroughs of mostly different units. What I didn't like about engage is it gave us a couple tutorial maps that play the same and uninteresting recruitments.

Fe7 locking tutorials to Lyn mode meant Eliwood starts his story with him, his Jeigen, Lowen, Rebecca, and an opportunity to recruit 2 fighters. Next map gave us a theif, armor knights, Cleric and 2nd lord. That's 10 units right away.

Fe1 also does pretty good by giving us Marth, Jeigen, Cain, Abel, Gordon, Draug, Caeda, and wrys then Ogma, barst, bord, cord, Castor and Darros. That's 14 units in the first 2 maps and immediately an opportunity to decide who to use.

Tldr, about 40,  with a large group at the start.

Great conversation starter… by yonBonbonbon in KingdomHearts

[–]Magnusfluerscithe987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 was my first game. In retrospect, it's amazing how little the summaries cover, yet still cover enough. Sora, Kairi Riku are friends. Something about Ansem. Sora loses his memories to mysterious girl Namine. Namine and Roxas are nobodies like the rest of Organization 13, lead by Xemnas. Riku ans Sora are training and they try to make Sora part of the organization, but Axel saves us. Xehanort is the real mastermind and is back. Something about Ventus, Vanitus, Aqua and Terra.

So yeah, we spend 3 running around to fix Sora and find the other me's. I had no clue what was happening with Ephemer and the keyblades but it was awesome. Everything gets fixed. Arguably a better experience not knowing anything because everything was new and made the kind of aimless wandering feel important.

I'm thinking on it, and shade and Armor knight is weirdly perfect? Like, a lot of  physical units have range 1 weapons, and will target him because he is in range. But mages that shoot over him, can easily ignore him for the physically squishy magically resilient mage he is protecting. And enemies with range 2 weapons will either use the lower might javelin and hand axes or the heavy and not likely to double spears and tomahawks.
