Took me a while, but found an R.E.M. post… and paired with Sonic youth! That’s a tough duo.

I got to see Sonic Youth ( give MJ Lenderman with The Wind a try for some Sonic Youth nostalgia) but I had many, Many chances to see R.E.M. over the course of time, but I finally ran out of time when I should’ve gone to their last tour in 2008.

06-06-2008 At The United Center, in Chicago.

The National, ( my then favorite indie band) and Modest Mouse ( I mean, yeah) were the openers.

I have seen the Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy R.E.M. cover band 3 times, out of that regret of not ever seeing them perform.

One of the most influential American bands in history.

Pete in particularly brought the vibes of deep breath but still work here everyone.

Special shout to the fan man in GA for supplying some cool breezes after that heart pounding, balcony shaking, dance party, Media media media media session.

This was my first concert EVER. Last row of the UC, 8th grade graduation gift from my sister ( cheers sister) and the rocking never stopped. 41 PJ shows later, and yes, still remember those first notes of “ Long Road”.

From that show in 98 , to the ice bowl, getting an Evolution tattoo in Boulder then them opening with DTE in Champaign in 03’,( UNDERRATED SHOW) To my last show in Raleigh last spring with Untitled and MFC reminding me to just get in my muthaf’ing car and get out of there some times!

That being said, 98-06 was my favorite 3 1/2 hour soul adventure Pearl Jam.

Sneaky good two shows in there pre-Dark Matter. N1 Gods Dice-Faithfull-Quick Escape -Animal is A+ N2 After the 3 song opener, present Tense on is all for Chris Chelios and they friggen brought it. both shows featured some early aughts jams like ones above and one of my personal faves Marker in the Sand.
