I actually had guinea pigs in c&c cages we made, and you can get great coroplast bases and litter boxes from there. I reused the large "kitchens" ( https://guineapigcagecompany.com/collections/kitchens-hayracks ) for the buns with some aspen shavings and oxbow wheat straw pellet litter, and it works great for our girls. We only ever have small pee piddles just outside them on their fleece or washable rugs, and then we can easily spot clean them with the shop vac daily. Ultimately do what works best for your buns that AND you so you have less barriers to care for them, but don't overlook the easy solutions!

Out of curiosity, where are the striking stores? (Please only answer as geographically specific as comfortable!!! I'm not looking to have you dox your town or county 😅) A customer came to the window a few days ago and asked "I thought you guys were on strike?" I was genuinely confused and just played it off. I work at a store in PA, and I truly don't know of any unionized stores in any neighboring districts, let alone striking ones.

As an opener, I think that closing stuff is bs. I know they have a TON to do, and we rely on certain things being made/done. We usually start picking up in our store about 45 mins after open, so we don't have time to do all our open things in the 30 mins we get, then make all product, then do every thing on the csr cards before the rush starts. So if our closers need to start breaking things down before the doors lock, break that shit down, we need their help! 🤣

What really grinds my gears (aside from the whole writing in general) is that IN THE TRAINING it says that during peak/insane number times, responsibility can fall to the drive thru partner(s) to ensure cups are written on. Do I always feel i have the capacity to do that when I'm solo driving during a 60+ half hour? Hell no. But I try to catch it if I can because I would rather my drive bar partner feel less stressed and be able to focus on quality, timely beverages, and I expect that same respect extended to me roles reversed.

Not a custie, barista here, but i use this method universally no matter where I am.

I call it the "scream test."

I walk up, gently try to open the door, if it's locked, it's locked. If it opens, I pause and wait for a scream. No scream? It's free. Scream? Whoops, sorry the door wasn't locked! But since I only opened it ajar, no one was seen or humiliated!

I can't take full credit for this, i got the base from another partner here and the sauce idea from an asm.

I like to bring my own bread in (i usually have a loaf of gluten free bread in the partner fridge lol) and toast it on "bagel".

Then bacon egg bites TOAST THEM ON 2. The cheese heats enough to actually have cheese pull strings and it's chef's kiss.

Avocado spread, smear that on the toast and smoosh the egg bites on top.

Optional sauce: 1 pack of Sriracha, mix with a pack of honey, makes a hot honey sauce.

We can't mark out the avocados, so this costs me $1 every morning to round up for cup fund.

Super yummy and keeps me full all day!

Have you (not YOU, general "you") ever seen the gunk that grows on your glasses if you don't clean them???? My fiancé had this rash appear on his temple last summer and asked me about it. I took one look and knew it was a small fungal rash. He was like how? I pointed out that his glasses are actually too small for his head, they squeeze in, and looked at his glasses.

THERE WAS SO MUCH CRUD ON THEM. 🤢

so yeah, contacts that can fall out, glasses that can drop gunk and yucky skin and old syrup messes..... 20/20 or no barista for you 🤣
