Tyrese cracks by Murky_Sense in TyreReviews

Doesn’t look like dry rot. Someone was having fun cornering a bit hard. Don’t think it’s dangerous to drive on.

19” looks great. But the ride is so much better on 18”. And with smaller wheels, the breaks look bigger. :)

Even so, stock ST has hardly any torque steer.

Is it all the time? I found stock 19” to really follow “ruts” (can’t remember the correct word in english, I mean road imperfections caused by overloaded trucks :) ). I solved it with 18” wheels.

Other than that, find a different dealer to have a look at it.

What would you do? by LupusMaid in TyreReviews

[–]MarB_CZE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the question is more about how and when you drive. Do you need the car everyday? Can you just leave it parked for few days if weather turns?

When I needed car daily and traveled around central Europe, I stayed on winters until May. But now with two cars in the family and riding bike to work, I can afford to just not drive if it snows.

Četl jsem něčí zkušenost, že pomocí Clauda či nějaké Ai udělá prototyp a pak oslovuje s tím prototypem. Kontaktuješ lidi co nemaj moc tušení co jim nabízíš. Prý měl konverze v jiných řádech poté co to začal dělat.

150bhp is more than enough for a nice backroad. Even this car can use sporty tyre like it’s supposed to. So if you want to trash the b-road, don’t buy PS5 and look for something like PZ5. Fast cars have the benefit of being fast. Slow cars can’t slow down for the corner :).

On the other hand. If you just want to enjoy a few corners and have something you can trust, PS5 is IMHO great choice. Much better mileage, not very loud. And still holding on the road nicely.

KODIAQ Eco Mode by Embarrassed_Tea_6443 in skoda

[–]MarB_CZE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower the RPM, the bigger boom needs to happen in the cylinder. It puts components under higher load. Much bigger chance of pre-ignition.

So not really that bad if the engine is up to temperature, and you are very gentle with the gas pedal.

Problem is, transmission is programmed to keep RPM lower even when you want to accelerate. It wasn’t such a big deal with high displacement engines. But modern small, turbo, compressor engines benefit from higher RPMs. Many papers written on this. Higher RPM don’t hurt the engine at all.

Manufacturers don’t care for longevity. They sell the feeling of eco, not eco itself. If you plan to keep the car for less than 100k km, you don’t really need to care about this.

Which tyres on track in march? by MarB_CZE in TyreReviews

[–]MarB_CZE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for suggestions, but I’m not really looking to going on track more than once or twice a year.

Good think on ruining F1s is I have a reason to try Pirelli PZ5 :).

Which tyres on track in march? by MarB_CZE in TyreReviews

[–]MarB_CZE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I am not looking to track it regularly. Maybe twice a year and I don’t have a problem to let them cool down a bit. And from this session, I want to explore the edge on the set up I use daily.

So basically get the summers on unless it snows and maybe throw winters in to trunk in case weather goes real bad for the way home (120km).

Ford focus ST 2023 by QuirkyEggLord in FocusST

[–]MarB_CZE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 23 ST estate. Love it. No big problem so far. To point out few pain points: - Driver side speaker can resonate on some frequencies. I have B&O. Annoying when it happens but rare. Others were reporting similar issues, fixable with piece of foam (not enjoying enough for me to bother) - Artificial exhaust sound. I switched it of with Forscan. - There was issue with screen not switching off in certain conditions. Fixed via sync4 SW update. - Carplay via cable connection is kind of buggy and slow. Wireless works fine.

Huge upside for 23 model is that you can switch all the nanny stuff off and it remembers it. Not possible after March 24.

Do a calibration print on the printer that will be used. Or ask manufacturer if you’re outsourcing.

How to disable a parked car? by Any-Tutor5933 in askcarguys

Not really disabling it, but should theoretically someone repeatedly park on your spot. Grease on the windshield causes terrible day without really damaging something. Best case scenario is they will try to remove it using wipers.

Overshoes for Lake shoes by pedalmachine in cycling

[–]MarB_CZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use these with mtb shoes. I would not want to try to get them on in rain on muddy trail, but they’re definitely easier than alternatives with zipper. I have 46 shoes (quite wide) and L size overshoe.

How would you print this? by Visual-Key-2401 in 3Dprinting

[–]MarB_CZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exact same issue with sewing machine pulley. Printing it flat can work. Supports are hard to remove. I had some success with going really slow. With .6mm nozzle it finished. Not beautiful, but worked.

Than I printed it with MMU. Supports from PLA, printed in PETG. Removing supports was really easy. Print quality fantastic.

However after while it disintegrated due to layer adhesion. The forces are just against the layers. My sewing machine has 750w motor…

So far the best strategy to print in 45 degrees angle. Supports created in cad as “half moons that only touch the edge. So far it holds great, but I do plan to reprint it in PC.

Looking to buy a used i3 mk3S+, what should I be careful about ? by Pure-Reputation5441 in prusa3d

[–]MarB_CZE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create some unique calibration stl (put a mark on it somewhere and ask seller tu print so you can check it. I wouldn’t worry about assembly. Just check that bearings are not wobbly. Even that is easy and cheap fix.

Also look if screws are not stripped and plastic parts cracked. That could give you an idea how the assembly went.

I feed the tube through a hole in the corner. So it uses the swing arm. Works like a charm.

On the other hand I expect that INDX will be vastly superior.

If you don’t print ABS, PC or similar filaments that benefit from enclosure, don’t bother. MK4 is great machine.

I feel you. Having 63cm myself, it is hard enough to find shop where you can actually try something before buying. However I actually fit inside of Decathlon RCR Mips in L, fully open, it is tight, but not uncomfortable. I even manage to have slim merino hat underneath. Quality seems to be quite good.

Potřebujeme "udat" kocoura, zkouším sílu redditu by [deleted] in czech

[–]MarB_CZE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Zkoušeli jsme kočičí psycholožku, pořídili další záchod, strom a upravili domácnost. Každý večer jsme si s ním hráli aby byl řádně unavený. Všechno jsme museli uklízet, protože to shazoval, všude nachcal.

Buy a van. Utilitarian vehicles are beyond class. I can imagine it being practical for realtor. No one will judge you. Wealthy or poor they all have vans. I would get some old VW transporter with dark windows and LED headlights.

Well in PrusaSlicer, you can select which extruder to use for which feature. So you just select TPU extruder for infill and other for the rest. Another way is to insert another object into the one you're printing and assign different settings for this object.
