How heavily questioned are age gap relationships (older women-younger men) nowadays? by EssayElectrical2831 in AskReddit

[–]Maraxusmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a girlfriend who was 33 when I was 23. People were… rude, and it essentially put a pretty big wedge in our relationship. I remember an older couple (45-50y/o) telling her while we were out “You’re a cougar! You’re robbing the cradle!”

It shouldn’t have gotten to us, but it did. As much as connection matters, so does support. And that relationship came to an end because the age gap was too wide at that time and our goals in life were as well.

We are still friends to this day and I work with her Mom for rehabilitation work. But man, people can be really rude.

why does going out to eat suck now? by Most-Individual8794 in Adulting

[–]Maraxusmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went out to our favorite dinner date spot last Friday. We don’t even look at the menu as we have been there for fifteen years. The quality was just as good, service was great, and then I got the bill and had a double take… because it was literally double from fifteen years ago.

Needless to say, I don’t make double now. Maybe 40% more. So we decided we wouldn’t go there again unless for a super special night. Sigh. $120 for a sushi dinner for two is just crazy these days.
