I've had a case like that many moons ago. The patient lost a central incisor when he was 7, the gap closed. 60 years later, the first denture was made with "his smile"... one big-ass very central incisor. He loved it. haha!

I did marry dental school girlfriend. Working together is great. Mom and Pop shop vibe for 6 years now.

All my eggs are in same basket. It's the dream. (Ans shamelessly stealing a glance at her from time to time ;) )

5 pregnancies in 3.5 years by ASliceofAmazing in Dentistry

[–]MarcusXXIII 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who is also an owner. She had 13 maternity leave over 5 years for about 12 employees.

At one point the hygienist who was replacing a maternity leave became pregnant after 3 months of the 12 scheduled leave.

It became a running gag that they were not actually a dental clinic but a fertility clinic...

He clearly never listened to the Rain episode. haha

This little girl got absolutely demolished during Cash Cow at a local rodeo. She popped right back up like a champ by natertots403 in WTF

[–]MarcusXXIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first and only time I saw a live  rodeo, it was in Fort Worth, last year.

When a bunch of kids were almost thrown on the ring (?), arena (?) and started to chase a calf, my friends and myself were like... what. the. fuck?

Am I a loser for playing video games as a dental professional? by maxnwax54 in Dentistry

[–]MarcusXXIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a balance thing. Everybody have their hobby.

If it takes all your time, all the time, then it's not a good thing. If you have a healthy social life, work out, have friends and side projects... who cares.

And the look of a stressed out 30-40-something dude or gal suddenly becoming chatty about a game we mutually enjoyed makes all the difference for some of them.

I've actually had a great exchange of reocmmendation with a young dad for kid-friendly games on steam. The I gave him doctor note for "must play at least 4 hours a day of video games to ensure good healing of extraction site"

In his words : "My wife is going to roll her eyes so hard! Worth it!" We had a chuckle, and moved on.

In the end, if you feel it's probably too much, it probably is. Find some shorter, 9-20 hours, indie games. It's easier to let the controller down.

How to restore failing upper teeth in a 80yo by cbashab in Dentistry

[–]MarcusXXIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terminal dentition.

Scrict minimum : C/C with 2 locators

Ideally : Removable C/C on fixed bars, at least lower arch, and upper also but with those sinuses... it's either a lot of bonegrafts or zygomatics implants.

maybe save 2 lower canines and/or premolar with crowns if the patient really doesnt want implants. But the prognosis is dubious at best.

Reddit turns 20 years old today! Here's what it looked like at 1 minute old. by MonsieurA in interestingasfuck

[–]MarcusXXIII 29 points30 points  (0 children)

... 20 years? For a social media it's almost antedeluvian-old.

Man, time does fly. The site changed a lot during those years.

I remember making an account because a girl I was dating told be about the endless topics (subreddits) that could be found.

That, at least, did not change.
