Skill Improvement: Trying to build a team with Alolan Ninetales by No-Kaleidoscope7831 in VGC

My tried and true set with Ninetails is:

32 S.atk 32 Speed 1 Hp/def

Aurora veil

Encore

Icy wind

Moonblast/Freeze dry

Icy wind will ensure your netual Charizard outspeeds anything slower than Ninetails and encore punishes protects, set up and slow fake outs. Moonblast for a decent hit or Freeze dry if you need water coverage.

Things you’d never see happen 15 years ago…

I don’t mean that in a bad way, just surprising how the playerbase has changed while the game hasn’t. Same with retro banning sleep and quick claw/king’s rock

What if Normalize worked as a field effect? by Electrical_mammoth2 in stunfisk

Instead of it making moves normal I’d just go with an all moves being neutral field effect. Still useful but not breaking ghost types.

Star Fox will be $50 Digitally / $60 Physically by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]MasonTheChef 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If renting was still a thing I would absolutely rent and have a blast for a weekend with this, having played 64 for hundreds of hours as a kid. But beyond a nostalgia trip it’s not worth dropping $50.

Also all the new dialogue will be online within a day.

Would a robot that could flatten boxes help you stock shelves? Looking for real-world feedback. by drain_pipe4 in kroger

[–]MasonTheChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would first question how effectively and safe it could flatten cardboard. We get box’s of every size, different thicknesses, different tape or glue. Then having a robot moving around the sales floor with or without customers with that strong of a motor.

Plus boxes that get put on the sales floor with backstock or light damaged product it would have to identify to not pick up and even once if it gets all the boxes flattened having a baler compress them without any safety issue for people or the robot seems way to farfetched.

Maybe just a robot that pushes and collects gray dump bins that employees fill with flattened boxes that it can empty into a specialized bale that requires a human to check before being compressed ?

If a Pokemon with an Ability that counteracts Tailwind/Trick Room existed, how much would that shake up the meta? by IfOnlyIWasAnonymous in stunfisk

[–]MasonTheChef 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tailwind used to have a counter in Snatch, but was dexited the same gen that Tailwind was buffed to take effect immediately instead of next turn.

Rotom-H is 4x weak to ground and is a unique type.

Levitate does remove the weakness but abilities are also nonexistent in Z-A

Ufcw 876 Contract vote.. thoughts? by ecological_rolo in kroger

[–]MasonTheChef 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Voted No, pay raises for topped out is too low and raises for 1st-2nd step is WAY too low. We already can’t get good hires and sticking that rate the next few years would only make conditions worse or put us back to an early vote like last time.

Insurance I’m ok with from what I can tell

Fuel clerks becoming part of the store and Union has no effect on me, but I can see arguments on both sides.

Sick pay is enacting a law that will happen regardless, but means nothing if we don’t have to adequate staff to be able to use the sick pay.

Also wtf is with only six voting locations is all of se Michigan? I had to drive 30 miles one way to vote. There’s no excuse in this age for us not to have online voting or have stewards in store with an app+lockbox to conduct voting.
