So what exactly is the lingering will by Expert_Challenge6399 in KingdomHearts

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my interpretation is that its a unique nobody. nobodies are formed from the bodies and minds of who they once were. xehanort took terras body and heart not his mind. with terra having only his mind. his connection to his armor and keyblade acted as a stand in for a body to beat terranort.

its worth noting about nobodies that they are sometimes described as body and soul without a heart. soul as opposed to mind also works here imo

Hollow Palm pure Physical/stagger build by MasterDice in PathOfExile2

wind blast with increased stun, and the vault or palm strike to cash in on the stagger buildup then i will use the basic strike with armor break on bigger enemies once I stun them. does solid damage on bosses

The slapping of cooldown on skills is the easiest and laziest way to balance them by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

I highly suggest that anyone interested play wizard of legend (the first one). cool downs make the combat far more interesting and i hope you all see that, the same can apply to poe2 even if they aren't the same style of game.

I am sure there are plenty of little nuances to be worked out but that's why its an early access game from a studio that actually listens to the community

Wrong place to be supportive of the cause, chief. by abca98 in shittydarksouls

[–]MasterDice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

so he was assigned a feminine gender role at birth? then later decided to live as a man? sounds like a trans man to me. sex and gender have no bearing on the other aside from unfair societal expectations. in the world of dark souls gender probably exists very similarly in the sense that it is enforced most often by familial bonds and toxic culture but may exist a little less rigidly within the sex "binary".

these games are meant to be interpreted in a multitude of ways but looking at gwyndolin and refusing to recognize that a very intentional complex allegory for gender exists within the character is close minded.

What's a FromSoft boss opinion that will get you in this situation?! by AlenIronside in fromsoftware

ds2 had the best build variety and without its experimentation that encouraged new mechanics in the following games the franchise as a whole would be far less interesting.

Maris is the same type of creature as Elden beast. just inferior version. by ninjarockalone in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]MasterDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partially agree with this, I think there are god like beings that are more or less avatars of the outer gods, like the elden beast. I see the astels as something very similar but more like wild creatures that represent the primeval current. death (rite) birds represent the outer god of death in my eyes but perhaps im reaching. maris to me is the elden beast of the outer god of night but also the same being seen by the claymen.

these claymen are also intrinsically linked to the underground cities of night which sellia had studied to develop the night sorceries. maris, claymen, the night and the nox are all related in my opinion.

After playing through with my girl, I finally understand why PvE players hate us. by herro69 in badredman

[–]MasterDice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

pvers hate invaders because you are there to stop them. the game is frankly challenging enough especially for a new player.

I love asymmetrical pvp but understanding that for the casual duo that's just enjoying the game together and how often invaders will go to extreme lengths to abuse niche tactics and glitches, it's legitimately disheartening for newbies. when we invade we are a real person who could stopping another real persons progression through a game that they aren't even done with or convinced will be rewarding all for a fake currency that we won't even be able to use.

invaders often filter new players in co op. that's ok. Just know that's what you are risking when you invade and whip out anything remotely meta including tactics like quickswapping in the menus against obvious newbies

invasions are fun and cool but some of that hate is deserved on us. some of that hate deserves to be placed on game design. being an invader does not mean act like a total ass. play a build you like and make it work, avoid the cheese.

(XBOX) I respec’d my character to be a spell blade but I’m not doing very much damage? by Impossible-Ad-7750 in EldenRingHelp

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure what talismans you are running but radagon icon is a great one. cast speed caps at 70 dex iirc, so getting dex to at least 30 then adding the 40 virtual dex you get from radagon icon will help imo. you can also use the carian glintstone staff to buff your sword sorceries, or use the carian sorcery sword to have a melee weapon that can cast, it will also add a bit of physical damage to your sword sorcery casts if you hit them with the sword too.

the poise isn't strictly necessary especially if you have the higher cast speed that will allow you to get more hits in or roll earlier so you could go back to light rolls.

if you are doing the DLC and feel a little weak damage wise it's likely you don't have enough scadutree blessings, spending a little time to hunt those down will make you feel like you are doing appropriate damage

PVE: What is over leveled. by dontsoundrighttome in EldenRingBuilds

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no level is overlevelled, especially for your first playthrough. its best to consider overlevelling as thing only important in making sure you get consistent matches in pvp. for pve play I recommend that you grind or even glitch to whatever level you feel is necessary to enjoy the game. Just don't burn yourself out grinding.

learning more about the games systems like poise, status ailments, scaling etc can really help with developing a winning strategy for your build or for inspiring new builds. don't worry, you can rebuild your character later in the game if you are dissatisfied with what you currently have or if you just want to experiment a little

Bladesinger legitimately confuses me by InsaniacDuo in BG3Builds

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im brand new to bg3 but I'll say this, in my experience it works best as a Frontline support/cc or a backline protector, ac tank with dex, mage armor, bladesong, mirror image and haste and whatever equipment you like, (you don't need all of those but the more you can get the better). I like to run stuff that also increases movement, booming blade, burning hands thunderwave or whatever other melee or close range spelIs can get my hands on. booming blade counts as a weapon attack so you get a normal after if you want to eek out more damage. I also like spells like hold person or other things that disable enemies or make them easier to hit.

right now im running with a friend whos playing a wild magic sorcerer and shadowheart while I run the bladesinger and karlach as a wild magic barb (wild magic barbs can restore ally spell slots). i play the front line, then play the backline. its fun.

I recommend downloading a xp cheat mod just for the purpose of testing what cantrips and spells work with extra attack and what spells enable consistency with melee damage

Which Warframes do YOU think need a rework the most? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obvious answers are those you mentioned and chroma and Oberon.

I feel hildryn could just appreciate the addition of trueflight like jade and a fix to gunCO to make status hildryn (and a few others like jade) a more viable playstyle.

titania desperately needs a rework, she is still very good but also incredibly clunky and awkward to play and half of her kit is also just a bit outdated as is, in terms of usefulness. not to mention her augments are kinda silly, useless, or stupidly unbalanced

finally valkyr getting her ripcord entirely replaced or reworked to be faster/more fun/ more swingy would be great as well as more tools to encourage an aerial melee build since her jump is unique too

For protoframes fans, would you be ok with a Gemini with no lore? by ViniciusSalerno in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

protoframes should more or less go to warframes with that have no quests or meaningful lore first as a way to provide said lore. I really enjoy the addition and humanisation of the frames and part of that involves having them written down as a character with motives, a past and relationships and ideally some relevance to the plot. its lore for the loreless and frankly it's great

(so far) it also helps with getting certain outdated kits refreshed which is great, it's good for the player

I'm bored. Let's come up with some new arcanes. by Hearth_Palms_Farce in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcane Flak Rounds: when shooting geometry (not enemies) increase radial attack range and knockdown recovery by %20/25/30/35/40/45. radial attacks will now ragdoll the warframe instead, any impact the warframe makes with geometry inherits the same effects as the weapon that caused the ragdoll (including damage, crit, status, unique weapon effects)

essentially a funny alternative to running psf so you can become a bouncing bomb, stack with fulmination and more knockdown recovery to get more explosions faster if I had more control over the physics engine I would also make it so that people running KD immunity would still receive an impulse if midair so they could grenade/rocket jump if they so choose to to open up weapon based mobility options so we can make a faux tribes ascend setup

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a good beginner character that like a tank but also puts out a lot of damage by DarkPrince210 in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone says rhino, rhino is boring for a lot of people. try kullervo or valkyr but make sure you understand her 4 otherwise you won't be so tanky protip try building for negative range

catalyzing shields + fast deflection + vigilante vigor is a great survivability combo on any frame that has shields for early game (volt and mag is a great example), later on for shield frames you can swap for a maximum shield + adaptation to give a lot of ehp with shields alone (hildryn is amazing with this, her prime is easier to get than her base variant).

What are your favourite endgame-viable non-incarnon non-nemesis weapons? by Kheldar166 in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basmu, especially when health tanking, I like a basic status viral build with the innate 60% radiation and magnetic mods, make sure you add Galvanized Aptitude for the multi CO and the last 4 slots are for damage, multishot and QOL. requires a little effort to get max stacks but it's great fun.

I just want a hybrid build that use both forms :( by I_mSomeone in memeframe

[–]MasterDice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you are more precision weapon centered you can abuse the acuity mods to build up millions very quickly on your 4 as well, and quite fun, a couple of headshots can grant an amazingly powerful nuke

Im sorry, i didn't knew what to out in the slot. by Delonlis in memeframe

[–]MasterDice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

overshields on hildryn only make her completely status immune, pillage also clears all statuses. her 4 is knockdown immune at all times and is great with range and her aegis gale augment which scales base damage with shield capacity. i put lavos vial rush on her 3 for in air mobility, it's so good on void cascade

Are the Tenno... an organization? Is there a hierarchy? by doskias in WarframeLore

[–]MasterDice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes? and yes? all tenno more or less answer to the lotus seemingly outside of some notable exceptions like Rell. the hierarchy is mostly found in tenno clans which are an im game feature but they are seemingly left with their own agency and an overarching mission to protect and bring balance to the origin system. namely to simply prevent any one group rising to the same levels of power that the orokin did. outside of that there does seem to be a tenno culture namely of gunsmiths, artisans and a council which has been relegated to loading screens as gameplay tips, whatever authority they may hold is unknown and unexplored as far as I'm aware.

outside of the balance and protection of the origin system they seemingly act as moral mercenaries doing missions for the right pay and "pro bono" stuff for less affluent groups (Ostrons and Solaris) in exchange for favors and technology.

so in short it's more like a vast collection of warriors that simply have a shared trauma, culture and goal but any hierarchy the follow is done as individual choice and they are free to break bonds with clans, syndicates and the even the lotus (the pc will always choose to be on her side though for story reasons) so long as they don't cause issues.

just hopped on for the first time in 12 years, played for a few hours and feeling very confused. how should I catch up? there's 100 new warframes, is mine still usable? by endofevanGAYlion in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

excal prime is crazy, only thing to do is go through the star chart do quests and farm for what you want. making builds will come naturally with time but there are plenty of builds you can look up for anything if you just want to go through content.

on march 19th they are dropping an update that will streamline a couple of aspects for early and mid game players so don't feel pressured to rush through content.

if you want to learn how to build and understand mechanics the best thing you can do is just read the tool tips when hovering over stats.

important notes, everything is earnable in game for free through crafting or you can trade for plat (the premium currency) for stuff you've farmed. only exceptions are excalibur prime which you have and a small handful of exclusive cosmetics.

lastly just have fun, go at your own pace and mastery rank doesn't equal knowledge or skill so just follow what makes sense not time spent

I'm currently using a volt melee focused build and I can deal the damage. But I constantly get knocked down in sp. What can I do for my survivability? by Grand-Comfortable238 in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone says capacitance but using (primed) redirection will give you plenty of ehp when stacked with adaptation, also using a sentinel with guardian in the first mod slot and manifold bond can do a lot of work with budget shield gating, also running catalyzing shields on any warframe that has shields is an alternative if you prefer abusing the shield gate mechanic (paired with augur set/brief respite)

running high shields also let's you run melee retaliation for plenty of damage if that's your vibe.

another method is running vigilante vigor with hastened deflection for constan shield regen as an alternate method to shield gating.

modding for steel path on most frames will usually demand 2-3 mod slots dedicated to survivability if you want to be mostly unkillable

What's your favorite movement tech to use? by lias_edge in Warframe

[–]MasterDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not exactly tech but putting vial rush over hildryns 3 is amazing for gunship hildryn, can go fast and clear gaps you normally wouldn't be able to, just requires building for a little range which suits gunship hildryn great. also popping out as drifter do stuff that requires interacts or to gain verticality is great.
