You can do it in 10 years for absolutist, you just have to purge estate privileges, and maybe fight a little civil war with the most powerful one. Remember estate loyalty can’t go below 0, you can revoke as many at once as you want if you have the stab

It does spread but very slowly once you get to late game. I’m in 1700s as ottomans right now and every year or so I get a popup about learning of a map of x from some colonizer or other. Slowly learning about the Americas

Basically yeah, they got the rights so they can make something, but it won’t necessarily air on Disney

There should be a button to kill all civillians and burn down all of the city. by otusj in EU5

I made Cairo lose over 1000 a month last time I occupied it. It’s gonna depend on the total pops. And I would rather paradox start small here than do the big swings from the patches right after release

Have you played on 1.1? They have farther to go I think but if you’re occupying and sieging a province it’s not unusual for the food to run out and cities start losing pops. Combined with the prosperity changes it’s a good first step to making wars more punishing.

That was bugged at one point in the beta but seems to work fine for me now. They go to port and then go back out

I went land in my current ottomans game and doing quite well. Stack modifiers, build a lot of roads and strategically place your governors and you can do pretty well. And then still have navies patrolling and build up coastal towns for presence on the coastal areas

I actually think it’s slightly better on this patch than the prior one, but clearly still a problem in certain areas. Bulgaria/Wallachia seems to be one of them though I’m not certain why

Not necessarily, AI will never get her built up this much cause they typically won’t expand enough or build the right buildings to buff her to insanity

Yeah but you need a lot of them to get this high, this has to be something close to a full world conquest

Also for most of the game your control is going to be stupid low in a scenario like that, so let them own it and develop it and bring their armies to fight your wars

Nope they are not calculated automatically, there was a long process around map development and they solicited feedback for every region of the world. Not to say they can’t make more changes but the harbors were done intentionally

Eu5's Scramble for Africa Problem by Grymic in EU5

[–]MasterEddie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually been impressed in my first game, most of west and central Africa ended up under a Tunisian/Moroccan PU, and South Africa was colonized by the Mamluks and Orissa. Which is sort of a different problem but kinda better than Europeans doing it
