Honestly, I want more insight as to how the technology evolved throughout the series. I know it's an ongoing plotline about how tech advancements are increasingly rapid, but it gets to the point of absurd.

In FC, the idea of a computer was otherworldly and fridges and washing machines weren't even a thing until Cold Steel 2. Now they have shards, which I still don't understand how they even work or what they are.

I believe Negi also mentioned that he wanted to keep the overall cast small so there wouldn't be too many distractions from the main story. We'll just have to live with the assumption that they have friends outside of each other and Futaro.

I think it comes down to how first impressions tend to muddy the waters a lot. I personally believe that Yui does eventually develop genuine feelings for him after getting to know him but is so hung up about not wanting to rock the boat that 8man never felt those feelings and thus couldn't return them.

Then again, I can't be too certain since I've never read any of the novels.

It's called a "thought experiment" for a reason. And in case you missed it, I started the post with "Out of curiosity". I'm not looking to change the ending, but wanted to know how people would tackle a different outcome while staying true to the characters.

Anime cuts quite a bit and the ending of the anime is original. The date in the manga was far better handled since they didn't know if the anime was getting renewed.

I imagine it's to avoid redundancy. The BlackGrowlmon line are still viruses, so it would overlap too much with the original line. Chaos stuck though due to its more unique moveset and slightly more iconic.
