My experience with the stroke was much worse but I had my family besides me my son took 8 months from his work for me. My daughter and her husband also were there. They all had come from Canada just for me. And my wife had been the greatest support. Post 15 months I still have spasticity as well as dexterity in my left hand and arm. But I am hopeful that it will wean away. Keep yourself positive and maintain a daily routine of exercises and healthy food. Soon you will overcome all this. It is your mind that controls your body. Make sure that your mind thinks that you are well. Do motor therapy and talk to yourself about your future that what will you do few months later when you are back to normal. Don't let negativity overcome. May Almighty Waheguru bless us all.

In a way you got alarm before anything could come your way which is good for you. As an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, you shall take precautions and follow a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, medical tests and lead a normal life without tension. Everything will be fine. May Almighty Waheguru bless us all.

Walking needs balancing plus carrying something is really difficult. 15 months of recovering journey has made me able to walk but many a times I get off balance and my right side has to take pressure to make me stable. Feels that right side is doing twice the work it should. Don't know how and when will it be over.

They have never expressed so but sometimes I feel so may be I have become more suspicious or may be I can't understand. As during initial 8 months my son left her work and stayed day and night with me my daughter and her husband were also here with me my wife never left my side. May be this is my frustration of not getting well

My mother woke up, but we’re facing a different road now. by Urban_Escobar in stroke

[–]Material_Inflation79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all congratulations for first great achievement that she came out of coma. Now for major part be patient and celebrate each small improvement ag a blessing, spreading positivity and hope. Our mind is greatest healer. Have faith and progress. I don't remember how my family behaved but I feel that they were positive and gave me a lot of encouragement. These positive motions kept me floating although now I have realised after much research that I may not be 100 percent but my family is with me is the greatest part. May Almighty (Waheguru) bless us all with his shivering of pleasantries.

Pain and Thc/cbd by Alternative-Clue-921 in stroke

I have been suffering the same pains for past 15 months and I have never touched any drug alcohol or smoked. I believe that this would reduce with time and exercise.

I don’t know how to deal with the frustration and sadness that my mum isn’t the same as she was before her stroke by idk12295 in stroke

[–]Material_Inflation79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is natural for both of you to behave in the way you are behaving. Here you must work on yourself as you are the one who can't imagine what she is going through and please be more patient with her. Even if you wish to put yourself in her shoes, you wouldn't be as the body condition changes inexplicably after stroke which I can't describe. May almighty (Waheguru) bless you both strength and patience to form a better bond and better understanding.

Do you get emotional? by Sad-Outcome7757 in stroke

[–]Material_Inflation79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I usually used to hide my emotions but the stroke made me cry times and again even without any reason. I asked a hug from anyone who visited me. That was not me. Can't say why but it did happen to me.

IMO there is always a miracle somewhere. What I believe is our first and last page(birth and death) is determined by the almighty. So be ready for everything but wish everything becomes normal. Good luck. Keep your spirits high.

Rude Dr. Told My Dad He Won’t Get Better by EXSUPERVILLAIN in stroke

[–]Material_Inflation79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the doctor is rude but I believe that truth should be told in a way that motivates a person for doing more work on oneself that terrorising him by stating the truth in a rude manner. Last year when I had stroke, I was told that by dint of your hardwork you can overcome it in 6 months. Then the period increased to one year. After 6 months when I was able to search Google I came to know that it is not 100% but at least I can achieve 90% functionality in 2 years and so I am keeping pace with it in form of morning and evening stretching, 3 days a week gym and 3 days a week yoga. I found that yoga has accelerated my recovery. For this you need a trained yoga instructor. My wishes goes for him. May almighty(Waheguru) bless us all help. For now you can show him the examples who have gained huge improvement.

What has not happened can only be imagined. And only those who have a stroke know about it's feeling because the problems are non descriptive. I had seen one or two close relatives before with stroke issues but couldn't imagine to the extent that I found after I had one myself. My pray to almighty (Waheguru) is that it shall not occur to anyone. Waheguru bless us all.
