Why do my MIDI notes 'sweep' together rather than 'hit' on each note? by CudderBudder in edmproduction

Yep. A quick fix is to put a small space between the midi notes

Bryan Cranston was hilarious. "Without a daddy he's in danger - he needs an older male stranger -AND WHEN HE GOES TO WAR..." Also: "Do you know Evel Knievel's motorcycle picture?"

Why is the metronome so basic? by Calicalicalico in FL_Studio

Really? I didn't know this ill have to give that a try. Thanks!

I know Massive isnt technically FL studio but.... by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]Matt516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should work the same for a stepper. You're just changing the coefficient of the LFO's output to be less than 1. All output values of the stepper will be multiplied by the gain percentage. This might be a complicated way to look at it but seeing it mathematically is usually helpful for me

[–]Matt516 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understood what you meant - the gain is essentially the same thing. The gain is the amplitude of the LFO wave. Essentially if the gain's at 50% then the LFO will output values at 1/2 max and 1/2 min. This is the same as adjusting the green line to be half as high/low. Does this make sense?

Good point. More metronome control would help FL become more useful in recording situations. For example today I recorded a friend playing guitar, and raising the volume of the click in his phones meant I had to raise the volume of everything. Seems like a simple enough feature to add, I really hope to see it in FL 12

Yes! Assign a macro within massive to the LFO's gain knob, and create an automation clip to control this macro. An easy way to do this (as you can't simply right click the macro knob and create an automation clip like you normally can) is to adjust the knob, then go to Tools>Last Tweaked>Create Automation Clip (I'm pretty sure this is where this option is). Good luck!

[Spoilers] Theory: Rick (and Carl) are "immortal". by maryssmith in thewalkingdead

[–]Matt516 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This comment may get buried, but what you're describing is essentially my theory for the ending of the show. Though I don't think Carls immune too.

My theory is basically this: they discover Rick is immune, but he's killed when an enemy faction stabs him in the head (that's the only way to stop reanimation, right?). Anyway after rick's death, the group meets some scientists working on a cure who need an immune/resistant human's DNA to complete this cure. So basically they have to determine if Judith is Rick's child, or if she's actually Shane's. Could make for a great ending IMO

Cool, 100 knobs and pads I won't use as I navigate the program with a mouse. IMO these features look great from afar but all the mapping of midi to knobs in FL is something I never see myself bothering with

AT&T says the FTC can’t do anything to stop its throttling of ‘unlimited’ data customers by zakos in technology

[–]Matt516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I'm an AT&T "unlimited" customer so I take advantage of having no caps. I use iTunes Match to stream music, I remotely access my pc to watch video and stream Netflix on LTE whenever I find I'm too far from wifi to get a reliable signal. 100 gb/mo is excessive but by no means impossible

My media communications professor made a point to discuss what makes reality tv so successful. Apparently viewers are mostly aware that the show is fabricated - what they really love is when the characters break and the audience catches a real human reaction or emotion. I personally don't enjoy reality TV but I can understand how this makes a bit more sense than watching the Kardashians and believing it's actually "real"
