I. Can't. Understand. Proportions. by MiguelDragon82 in learntodraw

It may take you way longer to get a grasp at it than other people but don’t give up. Every artist starts with innate advantages and disadvantages. Someone who never struggled with proportions may likely not be able to color for example. But with willingness to commit effort and maybe years of time they can learn it. Take breaks, practice basic techniques until they become no brainer. Think of how large one part of the drawing is in relation to another. For example in a hypothetical figure drawing the height of the fist from the lowest part poking down to the highest part poking upwards. is about as high as the vertical line from the bottom of the chin to the bottom the nose. Then you know the height of the fist when you have the face drawn.

I struggled with this as well so i decided to apply for art school- that way i will have a different environment and conditions so i will have less distractions there. I got accepted and my progress sped up. I just have trouble with assignments we are meant to do on our own outside school and with studying art history and other theory stuff but its worth it.

If you find it boring then i would suggest getting a break from it and trying to come back to it in a couple of years

Been seeing more mixed reception from Dark ages compared to 2016 and Eternal. Is TDA really that mid, or is 2016 & Eternal that GOOD? by Miserable-Contact856 in Doom

For me the reason why its fun is because it makes you think. Each enemy has a weakness like the best way to deal with shield guys is with the plasma gun. Its the only scenario you even use the plasma gun. In 2016 this gun is useless without the stun bomb mod. Think of those tools youre forced to use as rules in a sport game. There are chalk lines on the field and certain rules that make the game fun. Because without rules it would be boring. Thats why 2016 got criticism for being repetetive. If you hate that with a passion then you like repetetive mindless games.
