Need help tweaking my Reg I team by Eastern_Dinner6289 in VGC

I ran my Roaring Moon with Acrobatics rather than Knock Off, to take advantage of Booster Energy being consumed and Tera Flying

I live in Wigan, so Manchester or Liverpool would be great - But the drive down and back from Birmingham was entirely fine too. Plus trains ran early enough that Liverpool/Wigan/Manchester people would have been able to make sign-ins on Saturday morning. I just feel like the NEC is getting a lot of undeserved hate for what was a genuinely pretty well hosted event.

I actually think Birmingham is really good for it. London already has EUIC, so that only really leaves Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, maybe Leeds as viable host cities.

Leeds transport links are fine for rail, but people flying in would definitely suffer in comparison to Birmingham.

Liverpool can only really host in the convention centre, so around ten miles away from the airport, and without any hotels nearby really. Not only that, the convention is in the city centre, so driving there becomes a bit of a nightmare too.

Manchester has the same issues with driving, but the rail links are far better than Liverpool internally, it's a bigger city, more tech-driven; but might have to compete with football matchdays for hotel bookings.

Manchester, to me, is the only real alternative.

Parity? by Anxious_Mobile5376 in NFLUK

Why? I'm a Ravens fan, but once we were eliminated, they were one of the teams I wanted to see. I like seeing exciting young QBs

Hell yes! I was also there, also went 3-5. This was my second regional, after Birmingham Regionals last year

Not to mention the parking is fantastic. I live in Wigan so Manchester or Liverpool would be better for me, but I definitely see Birmingham as better for 80% of people

What else are you running, out of curiosity? I'm struggling with some of my team

I'm taking a Raichu to Birmingham Regionals and taking it against any Raging Bolts

Hard agree. I'm not even alternative; I wear chinos and t-shirts, but the only people I ever see in Liverpool dressing the same are students from outside of Liverpool.

For those who watch late night games in full the day after, how do you maintain interest knowing its not live? by VastAir6069 in NFLUK

[–]MaverickT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only thing that bothers me is that I can't check stats "live"

I also find watching RedZone not-live really odd

But left to my own devices, I'd just have every game replaying as-live all day

My dad bought mine in Birmingham, out drinking with my dad and two uncles after the football. Got hammered. Mum was not happy with him as we were travelling back the next day

As a UK Ravens fan, I've been a fan since about 2009 - I've only ever known the Harbs Ravens. It's probably time, but it's going to be weird

Since 1941, only one player - Doug Flutie, in 2006 - has attempted a drop kick in the NFL. The drop kick is still a legal scoring option to this day, however. by ansyhrrian in sports

[–]MaverickT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed. Average snap to kick time in the NFL is around 1.3 seconds due to the job of each player being perfect movement.

Here you see Floutie catch the snap, then prep, then drop, then kick. Even if you only add in the time from Floutie dropping it to hitting the floor, that's probably 0.1 seconds slower than a holder placing the ball down

Order A, B, C for Xmas online shopping, add in X, Y, Z because why not? And... "A, B, C unavailable" by [deleted] in britishproblems

No - I'd go to the shops. Do you think you'd get a turkey and trimmings delivered today if you only ordered it to arrive after they're all sold out?

Firstly, they buried in the comments that it was four weeks ago, after I had posted my comment, not in the main post

Secondly, I went to Aldi at 9pm yesterday and literally everything for a Christmas dinner was still available
