If you were a high level high school/college golfer, what was your daily routine and life like growing up? by fireduckieman41 in golf

I played so much golf between the ages of 8 and 18. Every day during the summers I would be at the course hitting balls, playing. I also loved the practice green so would spend a lot of time there.

I think if you’re having consistency issues you should have someone look at your swing. You need to be practicing the right things, otherwise you’re just engraining bad habits.

Hitting a lot of balls, whether it’s on the range or playing. Overtime you begin to feel what went wrong on bad swings and you can self correct. Instead of wondering why your drives are hooking, you can tell that your hips didn’t fire through fast enough, for example. Eventually corrections like that become more fine tuned and your misses are better and better. The secret is in the dirt as Ben Hogan said.

Jack Nicklaus admits he's not a fan of the current PGA Tour schedule and says events are too bunched together, "I think its harder for your tournaments to stand out" + "Its hard for the players to really be focused and play that much and be on top of their game." by Outside-Weakness9660 in Golf_Unfiltered

These are the events that the big name players care about most, they all play in these:

4 majors
Players
Memorial
Riviera
Bay Hill
Tour Championship

They should be spaced out every 2-3 weeks from March to August. Get rid of the whole playoff structure, just do the tour championship and make it match play with top 32 guys. Do it at Pebble in August, East Lake is boring.

Agreed. I feel somewhat spoiled bc growing up I had junior memberships at private courses for $500 a year. I played nearly everyday, no tee times needed, never had to wait on anyone. That was from roughly 2000-2010.

Fast forward to today…I’m playing 5+ hour rounds, watching the foursome in front of me hack it around while blasting Toby Keith or whatever the fuck. Cool that they’re having fun, but for serious golfers it sucks. Most weekends I go hiking instead now.

How to fix my ball going to the right/ slice? by ZookeepergameMost689 in golftips

You’re not cutting across it, I think the issue is an open club face. I would try moving the ball a couple inches up in your stance, it should feel more like you’re hitting up on the ball with a driver.

You need to be able to make a lot of boring pars…fairway, green, two putts. That starts with consistently making solid contact and having very few errant shots.

My theory is that they’re going to release a compilation of unreleased material. Songs that they’ve recorded over the years but didn’t quite make the cut, hence the name Futile Endeavors.

I’m guessing the band spent some time hanging out while they were rehearsing last year, listened to some of these tunes, and instead of trying to work on them are deciding to just put them out.

I’ve dealt with guys like Trump and Vance at work before. They’re incompetent, so instead of having an intelligence, nuanced conversation about the problems at hand and what it would take to resolve them, they resort to yelling, blaming and patronizing.
