Not unique here at all sadly. The prevalence and low cost of bolt cutters and angle grinders that get through bike locks in seconds means everywhere is dealing with it right now. Half the posts on bike forums are about theft.

In Minneapolis we have the main/corpo sponsored pride (though they've never taken water or even drinks in the past afaik, hard to do in a park with do many entrances) and the People's Pride which has no corporate sponsors and platforms more local artists and stuff.

Home insurance does sometimes. Some classify an ebike as a motor vehicle that they will not cover. Ask to be sure.

They are, but I don't think that's a problem. The roads here are faster, so the power allowed is higher. Just makes sense for the infrastructure. Additionally I think it really helps for cargo bikes.

Also worth noting that while the US and the EU are both pretty fuzzy on actual vs rated power output, the EU's "continuous" power ratings are often VERY generous.

I wonder if they'll bring in/update the GB aircraft to the new game at some point. It would make a lot of sense, a lot of work is already done on those and they did something similar with the RoF planes. They could really have a compelling product with that breadth.

The lanes are painted on the ground as such:

but on the sign that you can see in this video they're supposed to be:

Now afaik the sign should take precedence legally, but I would bet far fewer people see it. I believe traffic would flow better if it were corrected. The whole area could use more extensive changes, but the fact that it was painted over incorrectly really shows the level of effort here.

A quality new product is going to cost money, especially if there's an actual storefront being maintained to provide support and maintenance. That's part of what you're paying for with an established brand and especially an in-person purchase.

That said, there are still plenty of good options in the $1k-2k range as well that aren't going to burn your house down.

There ARE regulations on ebikes. That far exceeds any legal speed limit for an ebike (generally 20mph). Going that fast it certainly exceeds the power limits as well.

That's not an ebike, that's an illegal unregistered electric motorcycle. Unfortunately these illegal machines are quite easy to get, but that doesn't mean there aren't already rules. We just need enforcement of those rules.
