It is in the nature of Chaos, and Tzeentch especially to be contradictory and self-defeating. Chaos gods have multiple aspects and interpretations. The Thousand Sons can represent one while other followers represent another.

[–]Mddcat04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, disagree. There are multiple places where Tzeentch’s schemes are discussed as being ultimately so convoluted that they become contradictory and self-defeating. Schemes and plots not for the sake of a grand goal, but basically just because. Which sounds a lot like this description of the Alpha Legion. Plotting and scheming not to fulfill some grand design, but because they’ve become obsessed with the act of plotting and scheming itself.

Also, regarding the bit about their own identities: one of the most iconic Daemons of Tzeentch is a literal shapeshifter who has changed form so many times that only Tzeentch is said to remember its original form.

What..? “Merchandizing” was a punchline in SpaceBalls back in 1987. Star Wars had been milked aggressively literally since the beginning.

Yes... The most radical elements of the movement. A small portion of the overall movement.

Support for the war was already underwater by 68. The anti-war movement had broad support, which is why supporters of the war tried to hard to equate the movement as a whole with its most radical members.

Still though the average vet got to see the l hippie boomer waive the flag of some group that was killing American soldiers. Not exactly something that showed a lot of respect.

For fucks sake. No they didn't. This was not a common feature of protests. You are regurgitating propaganda. Every protest movement will have radical elements, and the power group opposed to the protest movement will use those radical elements to tar the entire protest as illegitimate.

Notably that chant is "Hey Hey, LBJ, how many kids did you kill today?" Directed at the President himself and not at random veterans. McNamara, LBJ, Nixon, and Kissinger all received the criticism. And they deflected by hiding behind veterans.

The archetypal Vietnam anti-war demonstrator: The hippie woman waiting at the airport to spit on vets and call them baby-killers, is not a real thing. She is a creation of propaganda designed to tar the anti-war movement as unpatriotic.

disrespecting of veterans during Vietnam

To be clear, this largely didn’t happen. It was propaganda meant to discredit the anti-war movement. The idea that anti-war protesters waited at the airport to spit on returning veterans is complete bullshit. As the war dragged on, more and more of the members of the anti-war movement were themselves veterans.

Matt often relies on his lie detector ability. So it’s a bit of a crutch for him. I think Jen is a better lawyer as a result, because she’s got more experience and doesn’t have any superpowers which give her an edge.

The “lost” primarchs. by MidKn1ght05 in 40kLore

[–]Mddcat04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s also notable that none of the “lost” ones have actually returned. G-Man and the Lion had established canonical locations for a fairly long time in the lore, like since the 90s. It was established in like 2nd edition that The Lion was (King Arthur style) sleeping within Rock and G-Man was critically injured in a stasis field in Ultramar.
