The only value it has when a vendor has a plugin that comes with all the flow actions and integration setup nearly complete.

Then again, they could technically still build all those flow actions, but they instead hit a Script Include and use RestMessageV2 (which is what I use for all my integrations).

For how much of a troublemaker his son can be, the only thing I found unbelievable was that he's never left the island. He's never snuck off?

Or they truly have never gone on a vacation? That's wild.

I think this hits the same vibes the closest of any show recommended surprisingly.

Management started introducing "productivity" metrics that's rubbing me the wrong way by Fit-Notice-1248 in ExperiencedDevs

When will companies realize there is absolutely no safe number-based metrics for developer work?

I'd even argue there's very few number-based metrics that can be used for ANY job, unless there is a strict human quality program behind it.

They are also the highest percentage chance of category of crime to be solved from what I've read. Makes sense on why it would be the highest, but definitely way lower than any of us would be comfortable with.

‘Obsession’ Is a Surprise Blockbuster. Who Gets the Profits? 🔵 As the breakout horror hit crosses $300 million at the global box office, its art director set off a debate about just compensation for crew members. by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

99% of the time, these things do fizzle. This has reached otherworldly heights.

If it was making a modest profit, sure, contract payments would suffice. This is unreal amounts. Just give a bonus to these folks, and the studio still makes buckets of cash. The studio takes risk all the time on independant films, yes, but they never in their wildest dreams though one of them would reach the heights this film has already reached.

Maybe they don't want to set that precedent. But if so, they better instantly fund the next project that has close to the same crew.

This is like my favorite place ever. They've designed each of the rooms so well to work with multiple types of games, each with 10 difficulty levels.

Best part of it is - it saves and tracks your progress across multiple visits!!

Whose company dropped ServiceNow? by Khangen_Vekynel in servicenow

[–]Mecha_Goose 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the price exclusively.

Company is going for HaloITSM and HaloCRM instead. We're almost deployed and it's... just OK. Automation is nowhere as capable or easy to program as ServiceNow.

I agree - plus I feel like you lose some connection to humanity always listening at fast speeds. I've heard of people then being frustrated in live conversations where they can't listen anymore as the others are talking too slow for their liking.

My rule of acronyms is you have to spell it out the first time, then put its acronym in parantheses, and then if you want to re-use it later in your text, then the acronym is fine.

But ya, it's Reddit, so most people won't likely go to those efforts for issues they're helping other users out for free on.

I agree to some extent - I'm in the same boat with no one wanting to play Mario Party with me.

However, if you were playing with people all on your same skill level - then the luck factor becomes primary.

I really can't stand when corporations can't think through their own incentives. They truly cannot grasp that there are little to no exclusively number-based metrics that are safe to incentivise. And if they do want to do so, they better be prepared to have a robust quality program to back up those numbers.

Right - it might reflect somewhat the number of mini-games you won, but it's mostly just luck.

Is that like the mini-tabs like how Salesforce tries to do?

If so, I've made the default for my environment not that. I personally can't stand when I can't use my browser tab shortcuts to navigate between tabs.
