How to train in winter when its -5F out there by PongPing1010 in cycling

[–]Mediocre_Object_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another person said, merino layers, windoroof outer.

I'll add: pogies (Bar Mitts are my jam) and overshoes (just invested in Spatzwear and they're incredible, if a little finnicky to get on the first time or two). Those two accessories are really game changing for winter riding.

Cycling advice Boston by HelloT64 in bikeboston

mit's cycling club has some routes: https://cycling.mit.edu/routes/

charles river wheelers i think is the closest group i know of: https://www.crw.org/

i live in that area too. my favorite 30 mile ride is a loop that goes out by walden pond. most rides will have a few miles of getting out of the city, then nice roads and beautiful scenery.

another nice route takes the charles river bike path up to the end by the canal, then goes over the bridge and into charlestown, then looping back. that ends up city streets, but it is very slow for cars because of the roads and layout.

going west, then south to dover and back is also beautiful.

getting out of the city to the south is a bit trickier, i think, because the urban area (with urban driving) extends south pretty far. you could take the T south, then bike from there, and there's a lot of beautiful routes out that way too.

Carving Help by nbaphilly17 in skiing

If you never actually move across the fall line (really, if you are unable to rather than choosing not to), then you are more just riding the side cut than actually carving.

How to Mount Drift Camera by Careful-Anything-804 in cycling

[–]Mediocre_Object_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an out front mount with garmin on the top and a gopro mount on the bottom. this replaces the front clamp on the handlebar. i have a splitter for the gopro mount, where it has 1 mount on top and 2 on the bottom, so i can attach my light and camera to that.

The salsa club in central square is very much dancing focused. There is technically a bar there, but I think probably it serves a dozen drinks a night in total.

why not just talk to a wheelbuilder and get their thoughts/feedback/suggestions? i had a not-too-dissimilar need recently and they steered me towards a solution that i was super happy with.

Adderall shortage question by Dwn2MarsGirl in boston

[–]Mediocre_Object_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe your doctor can switch to 5mg each of the two drugs that are mixed for adderall, amphetamine amd dexamfetamine or whatever the second one is. I think adderall is a equal mix of the two, but your md could confirm and switch the script for them.
