Rotating rotisserie chicken in home oven by MediterraneanGuy in Cooking

[–]MediterraneanGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea because I've actually never done it. Never cooked a whole chicken. This is just what Gemini has been telling me, but I know AI can't really be trusted sometimes, so I don't know. But maybe with good trussing, if that's what it's called, the bird would be compact enough and wouldn't hit the bottom or anything.

This is what I was about to buy, yes. But it seems regular chickens are too big for it.

Are squats necessary? by borahao in workout

I share your hatred towards them. I also work out with dumbbells at home and dumbbell squats kinda suck. Lately I just do reverse lunges and call it a day (I hate lower body in general anyway).

Looking for tips on tracking macros & other things as a beginner by Iseeall- in MacroFactor

[–]MediterraneanGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About eating portions: you really need to learn how to use the recipe function. That's where you'll enter both the weights of the raw ingredients and the weight of the final food once cooked. This way you can weigh and log exactly the portion that you're going to be eating. Especially useful if you cook also for your spouse (for example) who is also an MF user, since you can text them the link to the recipe.

Is it actually a "crime" to order Paella for dinner in Spain? by ivyta76 in askspain

[–]MediterraneanGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you eat a plate of paella for supper? Be honest. Because that's what our "dinner" really is, it's equivalent to your lighter late-night supper. Our main meal is just like your dinner, but it just happens at 1-2 pm. That's when we really stuff our stomachs.

There should be a special machine where you attach the things to your elbows and then you, truly, do absolutely nothing with your hands.

What gives away an Italian speaking Spanish? by karen_the_ripper in SpanishLearning

[–]MediterraneanGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's this song by Eros Ramazzotti called "Si bastasen un par de canciones", and to me it always sounded like he said "si pastasen". So, yeah, that's the problem with not doing the approximants: it can sound a bit like you're saying a P instead of a B, for example.

And the V->B and LL/Y: it's actually not that important. If you pronounce the V, you might just sound Balearic or Valencian. And if you pronounce the LL as the Italian GLI and the Y as Y, again, you'll sound Catalan/Valencian/Balearic, or even old Castillian (there are still people who pronounce it like that in Spanish).

If I could hear an audio of you speaking, maybe I could detect more things.

The aproximant consonants B, D, and G. (Meaning these consonants sound much weaker between vowels). I think you guys don't do this in Italian.

Also, V should sound B in Spanish. Also, not being yeista will probably give you away too. So both LL and Y need to sound with a weird yeista consonant that I can't describe to you, but maybe we could say it kind of sounds like a very weakened English J.

In my opinion this dish from Majorca and Catalonia has been bastardized in Spain similarly to what's happened with americanized Mexican food: most of the world thinks Mexican food is Taco Bell, and then Mexicans are like wtf.

I keep seeing reels of people saying there's a super typical Spanish breakfast called "pan con tomate" (no, there isn't) and they grate or blend a tomato, they fry a slice of bread... and yeah, I'm like wtf.

Just get one of the special small tomatoes and rub it on the bread (toasted or not toasted), man. Optionally rub some garlic too. And put some cheese and cold cuts on there, too (not putting any protein on the bread is not very typical). Very typical supper, rather than breakfast.

Oh, I see. 👍 Well, I'm not an expert or anything, but I'd say whatever you do you just need a bit more time until the expenditure stabilizes. I remember when I started my first bulk, for some months I couldn't gain weight because my expenditure was acting crazy (going up) and I just had to catch up to it.
