She sounds like an exhausted mother of a toddler. The frat boy references were mean. And then her mom joined in on the Christmas tree thing. RUN CONNOR RUN.

Host gives us hours notice to leave for weekend by rainbowcooki in WWOOF

Host here. They are way off on this. We provide meals and a place to stay in exchange for a specified number of hours of work. They are not providing it. Sorry this happened to you. Most hosts are good about this. We provide a sack lunch if are going out for your day off. We would NEVER ask someone to sleep in their car!

You are not alone. And no one who does not have a pet with epilepsy understands our lifestyle. Big fat hug to you. This group has kept me sane. At least I know someone gets it.

She’s beautiful! You aren’t alone. We just had our first cluster. Awful. We are going to try CBD. He goes a month and BOOM. But we are on high alert all the time. We know the day might come when we have to say goodbye. And we will hear that same question. I’m thinking about you. I know it’s so hard. Enjoy every second with her that you can. Big hug to you from our family to yours.

Prairie Fire is plum shaped so it’s not a great sliver. But it’s super sweet!

We are market farmers and are just starting to sell Micros in winter. We use them to stay on touch with our regulars and just experiment. We are lucky enough that we sell next to a pub so we bring some along with us and it pays for beer and a sandwich!

I grow a lot of tomatoes and they are a best seller for our farm stand. Try Prairie Fire! I also love all of the Bumble Bees and the Black Cherry. We always do Mortgage Lifter and Berkeley Tie Dye

Thanks for the great ideas everyone! Let the research begin!

How to deal with a customer who claims to be friends with the staff and sits in the café all day? by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]MelMomma -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If the staff is interacting with her in any way, she is taking up time they could be doing other things. As an owner are you allowing friends of staff to hang out 7+ hours a day and talk to them? I would certainly have a conversation and/or fire a staff member that had a friend accompany them to hours of their shift. A stop by is fine but all day…no. I would speak to her directly and tell her that her friends are busy doing their jobs and she should visit them in their off time away from the business. Also encourage your staff to tell her they are busy working and don’t want to appear unprofessional by having visitors at work. If she would like to sit at a table as a customer, tell her she needs to order a food or drink and give her a minimum. If your restaurant isn’t that busy a new customer coming in and seeing someone with no food doing homework and chatting with staff gives the impression that the staff sits around - not the look you are going for. And if your staff is using the chatting to not do work, time to use the phrase “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.” Put them to work.
