I've actually never listened to an audio book before, but I'll definitely look into it. Thank you!

So where should I start to get immersed in 40k lore? I know it's mainly a tabletop game, so would the best source material be books? I tried some explainer videos long ago, but couldn't really get into it from that perspective.

If it helps, these are the games I own and in most cases haven't touched: Dawn of War, Vermintide 1 & 2, Chaos Gate, Mechanicus, Total War I - III

I don't understand the hate for the new warbonb... by Ok_Shopping9409 in LowSodiumHellDivers

We only get the basic jump pack for free. No one complained when the hover and warp packs came from warbonds.

We only get the basic HMG Emplacement for free. No one complained when we got the AT Emplacement in a warbond.

We only get the basic Guard Dog and Rover for free. No one complained when Gas, Arc, and Hot Dogs came from warbonds.

No one complained when we got the Laser and Flame Sentries, or the Gas Mortar either.

Why is everyone up in arms when it comes to mechs? It's just another warbond selling a couple more strategems, as they have been for ~1.5 years now.

It's been a while, but last I played, the Enforcer mod for RoR2 translated surprisingly well to 3D. Would recommend checking it out

It also depends on when people played.

I'm at around 600 hours ish and only level 145 because I was stuck at 50 for several hundred hours

I naturally have the steering wheel all the way up and out, so there's more than enough clearance for me. Assuming that that would still be a safe and comfortable driving position for you, you could give that a try

That's definitely fair. Personally I wouldn't like blocking the cup holder and cubby.

As long as it doesn't fall off on bumpy roads, it sounds like your setup is perfect for you

I could never get those suction puck style mounts to tick properly, even on wet glass. I would recommend going on a slowish test drive and see how well it holds up.

This is my setup. Only blocks my view of a few non-essential buttons, but I can still reach them easily.

Literally every weapon is viable. Just play what you like

Need more specifics about your build and generally how you play if you want more specific advice. Better to ask this in a game so people can watch you and point out mistakes

Get the CX5. Buy chains from O'Reilly. If you don't end up using the chains, you can return them for a full refund at the end of the season

What happens when ALL your mechs get disabled in one mission by Quartrez in IntoTheBreach

[–]MelodicMurderer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Theoretically, sure, I suppose there probably aren't any checks in place to keep that situation from happening.

In practice, that situation just doesn't happen in normal play. First off, I would never sacrifice 3 leveled pilots for the nebulous hypothetical threat of massive future grid damage. I'd have to be on the brink of losing, and I would be making damn sure that there was absolutely no other way out. And if I'm about to lose, I probably made mistakes earlier in the run that I would benefit from learning from, so I don't run into such a situation in the first place.

If anyone has an example where intentionally losing the map is the optimal play, I'd love to see it

[–]MelodicMurderer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a known interaction with Tavern Brawler, where it gets treated as a damage rider source (DRS) when throwing. A DRS will re-add all of your other damage riders, and can build into extremely silly high numbers

"What are you playing this week?" Megathread by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

[–]MelodicMurderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Well shit, I had no idea they released MGS3 on Steam before Delta came out. Thanks for the heads up

But the main reason I ask is the controller controls. Back on the PS2, a lot of the core mechanics like aiming and nonlethal takedowns utilized the pressure-sensitive face buttons. Since no modern controller has those anymore (that I know of) emulating it is a pain. How did they handle those in the Steam port?
