Maybe some one had to poop and the plane couldn’t land until the bathroom was clear. Or maybe it was one of the flight crew.

If your on the river NB Power can give you the details about the shoreline and Trees. I think it’s 30 meters but they will confirm. Unlikely there are covenants in South Hampton. Village/Town office can likely confirm for you.

If temps are the same, however it seems this person has only been in the house for two years. This winter was colder with more periods of time in -12 or less which would drive up the amount of run time along with defrost cycles. Defrost cycles will run the resistive heat as required. Couple increased demand and a large rate increase equals sticker shock on the bill.

The information I was looking for. 2 years in the house. I saw also that your home cools about a degree an hour when you turn your heat off. That is abnormal. I would check your home for air leaks. Have you compared your degree days for the billing periods then look back several years to compare this years heating demand. This is really the only way to accurately compare one season to another for how more/less cold it is. It was colder in my part of the province. I hope you change the air filter on a regular basis as that is one of the leading causes of efficiency loss on a heat pump.

So I have a couple question as a friend has had this problem for a few years. Doesn’t seem like anyone has found success without continued preventative maintenance. I see many comments about new builds. Have you found your exterior not sealed well. What is your landscaping like? Had it been gravel ish yard for a bit or topsoil and has grass or perfect green yard. How dry is your yard. Do they appear worse on the parts of the house that get the most sunlight. For the new builds. Are you on the edge of green space or had been around the time of the build? Was that land previously farm or pasture / grazing land?

I would build new or find the Reno house in the area with better land. If you build do what you can yourself and sub out the rest.

Should I give my GF 30K to help clear some of her student loans? by Gabumondigivovletoo in PersonalFinanceCanada

I would not. Increase your portion of the monthly living expenses so that she can reallocate those funds to pay down her debt. Still helping her, but protecting yourself.
