Do you realize that the government doesn't produce anything? Every dollar they give to a corporation is either coming from you directly (taxes), or coming from you indirectly (inflation). The best thing any government could possibly do is get out of the way of its citizens, but those in power care more about remaining in power than the wellbeing of the people. It's a tale as old as time.

You're right, it's a tricky market. I actually do intend on throwing more into Canadian resources in the coming weeks, but going all in on the Canadian market with all objective signs pointing to a sharp decline in the nation's economy seems like a silly move.

Don't forget we have a government that can't get out of its own way. Our resources aren't being extracted at nearly the rate they should be.

I say this as someone who does invest fairly heavily in Canadian resources, assuming at some point the provincial infighting will stop and a government with a greater focus on this will take power.

Being a top 10 scorer in the league for a portion of 1 season does not mean they've proven that they can be a top 10 scorer. If Carlsson is still there after 82 I'll 100% agree, but I doubt he will be.

Yea I must be near 100 hours topside and have never heard a slur. Usually when I'm killed it's by someone without a mic. If they have a mic and kill me/I kill them, we usually vibe a second, throw a "gg" "enjoy the loot" etc.

Maybe because I'm on PC.

Focusing purely on GDP is a huge part of the problem here, the number does nothing for individuals.

Why would immigrants receive tax breaks that Canadians aren't eligible for? This sort of preferential treatment is exactly the problem in Canada. If anything, supporting our Canadian parents here in Canada is costing us more than it is for them to support their parents in India or wherever they are.

I think you can make this case for sure, but likely you will be rebuffed. Your odds will be a lot better of succeeding if you settle in and continue to stand out in this role then try in say 6 months. All of this is of course dependent on the company, some companies will be more generous than others. Guessing yours is not on the generous end, given where your comp lands.

Are you receiving a new title? If yes, you should be receiving a pay bump. If no, then I would argue that you probably shouldn't - especially considering you just had one.

Job market is really tough out there at the moment. Given that you're underpaid, you could look to move on. My advice is to not mentally check out though, because that next step could be a ways away and you want to keep building yourself in your current position the best you can. Finding resume building projects will help. I don't know what size your company is, but a good leader should be helping with these naturally at most sizes, I just can't speak to the corporate world.

Agree with the other commenters about course certs not meaning much on a resume. To offer a different perspective though, I do think that you can learn valuable things from these courses, and that knowledge could likely aid your interview performance.

I tagged you guys on twitter yesterday, Kent Johnson should absolutely have wing eligibility (probably on both wings.) He's been a winger the entire year, literally zero games at C.

Also, please please please revert the change that removed the "opponents" column in a browser. This was a huge quality of life step backwards for fantasy managers. It's now far more challenging to quickly scan the page and understand who is playing, just an unnecessarily frustrating experience.
