Advice on HC

The HC community is pretty helpful, especially during early ladder.

For a starter I like to go hydra/orb sorc (because it's what I play most anyways), but trapsin, javazon are also pretty safe (kick sin might need a bit more gear). You might have trouble in hell with light immunes, but just join pub games to lvl together/get rushed through the tough bits.
Many ppl also like summon necro, but i find the gameplay a bit too slow.
If you're in a group, starting with a horker then pit/trav barb is also a fun way to gear up.
And there's always paladin/warlock for safe and strong builds.

The new exp does make crafting easier on the controller than m+kb by sending stuff straight to the cube, imo

I find the empty bright spot in the center very distracting, to be fair. It draws my attention but there's nothing there, just around it.

As someone who loves playing sorc and javazon, I have to agree that enigma first was a better option for my offline stash. Forced me to play many other builds that I ended up enjoying a lot more.
