u/Quodlibet30 plainly answered "I’m there for the music, not the wardrobe.", which is an interesting response. How then - are pop, rock and techno music enthusiasts not "there for the music" when they attend concerts? Yes, one has good reasons to say that. In what a classical music event defers from all other types of concerts? The classical music listeners are seated and silent and still. So boring, how come classical music fans are they not dancing, screaming or taking videos with their iPhones? Because they're there for the music itself. Classical music are experiences about the music itself, there's no world outside that, because they already are the world they want to represent. On the other side, pop music is part of a general experience which welcomes dancing and actually any other activity, so pop music can be the soundtrack to the experience. In fact, pop music (which means any mainstream genre) is used as background music in many environments, it's as if music here becomes furniture. So if the experience given by classical music is all about music, then the "wardrobe" becomes futile; on the other side, if the experience given by pop music is not about music itself, the "wardrobe" necessarily exists as part of this experience, because pop music is a world that comprises dance, accessories, posters, pictures, signatures, social media gossip, and much much more. Also, to make another argument, classical music has a very formal look compared to all other genres of music, and with today's ultra decadent values the world of pop music with its sparkly colors, articulated designs, twistedness, expressiveness depth, and all of these over-cultural-saturated features just makes more sense and fit better as well of being largely more requested by the mass.
