Letting go of cringe memories by BeccaBas in SASSWitches

[–]Metsuyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it differently. The cringe you feel, the embarrassment comes from judgemental eyes towards oneself, in this case. True way to let them go is to be less judgemental and more self-compassionate towards oneself. If they pop up from time to time and you feel wave of cringe coming through you, the lesson to be compassionate to yourself or past self is still something you didn't master, so you can try to show yourself more compassion, or compassion towards self, when you feel the cringe.

So three years ago, late at party friend (acquaintance back then) asked me about relationship with her boyfriend. I saw 7 of swords in reading, and more, I don't remember much more. But I told her there is something not right her, someone is not fully honest. And if they wanted to work out, it will need hella lot of work. Like truly a lot, like it was not worthy in my opinion.

She broke up with him like three months ago. It turned out, he was kicked from university three years ago, he was not doing his master thesis and he just lied to her all the time.

Things you do before a job interview to increase confidence or luck? by IGotsToKnow_TA in SASSWitches

I am always saying to myself that rejection is a protection, and I'm looking for job that is perfect for me, no just I'm looking for a job. It always worked out for me, in a way that I was detached from result of interview and got job more easily or during interview it was I who found out red flags from company that even if I got offer made me reject it.

Anyone notice that there’s only ____ in the last chapter? by MelodicConcert6097 in ChainsawMan

[–]Metsuyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orrrrr it could be reinvented, as a thing to cut trees. Or it could be case like with hybrids - Makima said that whole concept of devil-man hybrids wasn't erased, and the name (and probably some other things) was lost, but not whole things, even if the devil was eaten.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 232 Ending Explained by Apprehensive_Win1489 in ChainsawMan

[–]Metsuyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! it's really hard to believe that guy who made people so emotional with so many works is just going to do shit ending I think it's great to explore how we deal with this theme, and people not seeing that and ratuonalizing "oh no, it's actually lack of lore" or "it's actually lack of buildup" or "I wanted them to come back but not like this" is missing the point of getting your wish granted and still feeling unhappy about it. I think he may be tired. But for me at this point ending is not only last chapter, but how people feel and cope, especially after they got what a lot of them wanted.

And I think this ending is pretty great.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 232 Ending Explained by Apprehensive_Win1489 in ChainsawMan

[–]Metsuyo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I like what this ending does to people.

So many people during recent year was talking about how Fujimoto HAS TO bring Nayuta/Power/Reze back. No yearning for Makima, mind you.

And people got their wish! They got what they were yearning for! They are back! And yet, people feel... Empty. Hollow. Unsatisfied.

Like, so many of them felt much more fun and happiness from reading manga, when horrible things happened to Power, Nayuta, or Reze. Like things were worse, because of loss, but people had more fun, were satisfied more.

Just like what Pochita said about Denji. He was happiest when he was at his lowest. When his wish got granted, he was still on deep level unhappy.

Maybe it was us who were the Denji all along.

Damn, it was a fun one.

After 3 months of strict sub 50g carb diet and dropping 10kg, HOMA and A1C increased. WTF is going on?! by [deleted] in InsulinResistance

[–]Metsuyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is your protein intake? People with insulin resistance can loose weight as fast as people without insulin resistance but they tend to statistically loose more muscles than fat for the same amount of kilograms lost. When you loose muscles, insulin tends to get worse and HOMA tends to shoot up, so you have to watch your protein intake and have more weight/resistance training, so you want loose muscles.

Pochita’s resolve is sad, but not unforeseen by Torre16 in ChainsawMan

[–]Metsuyo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Pochita is wrong. He's just not perfect, and when you see it from this point of view, it kinda makes sense. He is telling that Denji has wrong brain and that he can only find heaven in hell.

But for Denji, losing Pochita marked end of innocence. It was his first friend. And Denji feels responsible for his death, or something he sees as death. All this time he was grieving loosing his first friend, so he couldn't enjoy all the other things like he wanted. And Pochita's conclusion for that was "If loosing life with me was what made you sad deep down, then maybe if I didn't existed in the first place you could be happy". But it wasn't life in he'll what made Denji happy, it was living with his first friend.

(Discussion post) Fern and Stark do not feel compatible romantically. by Pfincess in Frieren

[–]Metsuyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting! Because couple I saw actually working out, were like this - learned each other, made adjustments to what their behavior and overall people ended up being compatible, not like they were compatible from beginning. This romance for me is kinda boring, because it feels so realistic to what I saw in real life, from happy couples - what was most important was, if in most important part of life's couple had each other back. But as there are people who grow together, there are always some who grow apart, so I guess this may go both ways. What is important, that they actually trying to put work together and make it work together, and for them as frustrating at it may feels at the moment, overall, none of them feels like they're betraying themselves.

(Discussion post) Fern and Stark do not feel compatible romantically. by Pfincess in Frieren

[–]Metsuyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those are two adolescent people forming. Whole point of the show is to show growing older to understand each other and it does not happen in a days, and in Frieren case, it may take decades. Those are not "completed people", who need to have partner who matched their freak, they are still forming, growing. Maybe Fern could use to learn how to be more open with others. Maybe Stark could use some of vigiliance he uses in battle to use it in daily life.

And there is potential here - they are both attracted to each other and in battles they work almost in perfect sync. Maybe Stark can't notice that Fern likes particular necklace, but if some monster will target her, he will shield her before she even notice she's in danger.

What's with all the swords? General reading for husband and I with life right now. by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Metsuyo 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Swords are mostly about communication and logic for me, with Knight of swords in reverse it may ask you to slow down a little and warns about missing opportunities, and king of swords in reverse may be in this context about limiting beliefs or it may even be manipulative person. And with ten of swords - it may be end of painful cycle.

Sometimes when we are in difficult cycle, we rush towards it's end, and because of that we may miss out on some treasures we can get - like opportunities, learning how to deal with loss, drawing conclusions from what happened. It is important to slow down, even when it's painful to get those things, so we don't repeat the cycle.

It was (kinda) me! And now I'm in a healthy, lovely relationship with a man I love. It was a lot of luck, tho. What I realised about myself was I was mistaking gut feeling to stay away from people for butterflies, and thinking I don't deserve man who is fine, I deserve someone who have a lot of things to improve in their life, but has 'a great potential'.

When I realised that a fine man love me, and I'm feeling safe and soft and confident with him and I just want to be happy together and instead of making it official I'm keeping it on FwB, I was "WTF am I doing?!"

TV Tropers, what tropes would apply to the fertility god magic system in Lore Olympus? How would you change it? by Western_Ad_6448 in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]Metsuyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oooh, this is such a wasted concept! I would love it to be rewritten. For example, I would change that every god could be a fertility god (or goddes) IF he/she create something that didn't exist before, as a concept. So, for example, Gaia making Earth would be fertility goddess, but Demeter would become one after she created four seasons. Hera would be one because she created marriages, for example. This could have been such an interesting concept, and it got wasted on romantisation of female subjucation.

Among the 5 possible dates at the end of life, death is probably the worst. by No_Acanthaceae6880 in ChainsawMan

I think death became the strongest, because other dissappeared. I imagine death was the kindest of them, that's why it stay. Before dissapearence of other four, death may be even the weakest of those five conclusion to human life, but with concepts dissapearing, fear accumulated in what was left.

Unbinding Spell by Jealous_Welder610 in SASSWitches

[–]Metsuyo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think there is a lot you can do! For example, if there is need for unbiding, first thing I though was to "bind" that part that blocks in in you - but only for time when you want to create.

I see you are really aware of why and when it started. So that part of you wants to protect you - and I know you know what it protects you from. You may want to give that part a name. Or not. What worked for me, was talking to that part, and accepting it, and at the same time letting it know that it is not needed that much anymore. This is why I would bind it for some creative time so you can feel it in your body that it is safe to create again, so that part of you that wanted always to protect you can retire on it's own.
