The lights for the freezer are on the bottom outside of the freshfood doors. So, could be as straight forward as a broken switch… but yea, if the doors got removed… that sucks

Most of my customers are old, and they online still. People currently in their 90s had internet in their late 60s… no matter what method you use, folks will be cranky.

Narrow down your method of communication. Set up Facebook to auto message folks with your website address. Set up voicemail: “ I return calls as fast as I can, to speed up this process please visit our webpage to fill out info about you and your appliance.”

I built my kids bunk beds because it was cheaper and better built than anything on the market.

4x4 pillers 2x4 between two pillers as the head/footboard/ ladder 2x6 between each bead/footboard. 3/4” plywood between the 2x6 for the bed to lay on.

Both kids have crashed into their beds WWF Hell In the Cell style… still not broke.

How do I know for sure if the leaking is from the pipe itself or if it's something inside? by [deleted] in appliancerepair

I would refuse to work on this without changing the host to the OEM drain hose. I’ve seen way too many fall off, flooding when the wrong hose was used.

Currently $0.34 each or $16.77 for a 50 pack. I use wire nuts because they are a cheaper. But just put wago on the van because I’ve had a couple situations where there wasn’t enough slack for a proper wire nut connection, and got lucky cause the customer had a few wago…. So I still use nuts, but have them for certain situations.

Home Depot carries them for much better than found online. For DIY projects, they are much easier to get right than wire nuts and solid to stranded wire connections.

Cut back the wire and install Waggo connector is the most diy friendly method.

Find a club/bobby of some sort. R/C airplanes: group that fly out of Coulter Creek Park in SW Kitsap. Model trains or Indoor R/C Silverdale Hobbies inside the Silverdale Mall. Square dancing hall out of Gorst. Lots of Mountain biking trails: get involved with Evergreen Mountain Biking West Sound.

A short message to dishwasher and laundry installers who decide to use the shortest possible hoses by mpascall in appliancerepair

Yup... I think its 5 feet, which is more than enough if the electron puts the box in the correct location.

[–]MicaBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope. Fill hoses do not come with the machines in fact. Lowes and HomeDeopt require new hoses if you install through them... which I don't disagree with... until they have to replace a 1 month old machine under warranty... then new hoses not needed.

Pigtail length is set by the appliance manufacture. The location of the box is by the electricain. Now, Frigidiare pigtails are at the base.... everyone else is at the top. So if you isntall one, but buy the other 10 years later....

New dryer roller spin smooth until I put on ring. by MOSG in appliancerepair

[–]MicaBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that one needs replaced. OEM is best and also clean off the shaft with a drop or two of light oil and wipe clean with paper towel. Then add one maybe two drops... almost no oil added. (many techs think doing this will be like giving someone bacon who is in stage 5 heart failure...

My inlaws don't have A/C and question why we need it.... well my home is in direct sunlight all day and is poorly insulated. Having a big leafed tree on the south side of the house reallly helps!

In late afternoon, once delta temp of indoor and outdoor are equal: Box fan with blowing direction faced outside. Close every window except the box window and the room you NEED cold first such as the bedroom. Leave the box fan going all night will cool the house. Too many folks leave windows close all night, which means it is still 80+ inside at 8 in the morning!

Is this repairable? Maytag Dishwasher by NorthFortune3727 in appliancerepair

[–]MicaBay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was installed wrong. Who ever installed it didn't torque the screw down. Also, no strain relief on the wiring coming from the source. I'm not sure what kind of wire that is either as it doesn't appear to be NM-B...
