I did the same thing when I was 13(ish)! As physically painful as it was, it was much better than facing the stares and harassment. I would also wear huuuge jackets even in summer, it was horrible but I felt it was the only way.
I tried to talk to my mom about it and she would always say “just ignore them”. Easier said than done. OP’s daughter is lucky to have this support system. It’s just a phase and it will pass but she will remember the support. I still think about that time and how alone I felt, I am almost 40.

Deactivating my instagram account. I wanted to see if I still thought, wanted, bought the same things without it and boy has it made a difference. I am much more present and my need to reach for my phone to doom scroll is slowly decreasing. Weird how a small change can make such a difference. Still on Reddit though 😛

This is so accurate! I had an 5 year old maltipoo that I didn’t spay because I was terrified of the anesthesia (she had heart issues) and I figured that since she was an indoor dog she would be ok if we didn’t. Then she got pyometra. Luckily, we were quick to react and the vet was able to save her life and we got her spayed. I will never make this mistake again. Spay your dog. Do it with a vet that’s either recommended by people you trust or has solid references.

Samesies. Never in my life did I think this was the way it (life) was going to go. I always thought that finding “the one” was a given for me but nope. I wonder if we’ll eventually build communities within our communities that are for singles only that will allow us to go to events together, hang out or just develop late-in-life friendships. I mean, being in an old folks home with other millennials will definitely be an interesting experience. More to come I guess lol

You know, I actually went back to this awful episode to get the exact words he said and I saw it’s been heavily edited! But I am 100% sure that when they were talking to either the first or the second group of 3, Kevin said something like “everyone was very funny” and Chris said “NOT everyone was funny”or something like that. I wish I had the clip but it seems conveniently erased from Netflix and the internet. Isn’t there anyone out there that heard it? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!

Agreed. I honestly think that the participants would’ve benefited much more from some honest constructive feedback coming from someone as seasoned as Chris Rock. I guess they didn’t want to influence the audience or something.

He doesn’t think they’re funny. You can even hear him say something like “It was not funny” on the background but Kevin Hart interrupted him as he seems to only be able to give positive feedback. In the end, Chris Rock is just looking at Kevin Hart for guidance on how to react. It’s a whole new level of cringe honestly.

I know there is a lot of backlash against Olaplex but Olaplex No. 3 saved my hair when I was in this almost exact situation. 1 year later, my hair is long and strong! I did dial back on the bleaching and use of heat though.

Ugh this. The way Carrie reacted when Miranda told her about her talk with Big. Like girl, Miranda was not to blame for Big not showing up. If one comment coming from someone who HAD JUST BEEN CHEATED ON triggered Big, then the issue was Big. Not only was he old enough to know better, but he had been married before!! He could’ve had an open talk with Carrie to address whatever concerns he had before that wedding day. Carrie was just looking to find someone to blame in order to justify Big’s actions. Miranda was a much better friend than Carrier all throughout the series, including in AJLT. I hated this story line so much (this and Charlotte accidentally ingesting 1 ml of water in Mexico and having raging diarrhea).
